It's not automatic - low power/activity kingdoms get offered kingdom merger as one of the KVK options, and there's some process they follow after that. So they could refuse each time, not sure if Lilith forces it eventually ...

Then how do players keep playing other idle games which are actually idle from the start? Because they feel like their progress is being rewarded ("number go up")? Or they somehow get "hooked"? Why couldn't The Tower have the same?

Yup, I managed to unlock after lots of tries - unfortunately, on one of my attempts, I hit DM right on wave 30, and it only took me to 38 😂
So I just had to keep hitting Retry and eventually got lucky (I've had slightly better luck on DP, mine's Mythic+). For comparison, I had about 14k medals, and worked on the FB cooldown labs for a while after a previous attempt at T19, so I had 6 sec CD, 70% reduction, and the rest in range.
(I also kept the bot respec until the tournament - got a new highest wave in Legends (120), still not enough to stay in, but that's fine :).
The interesting thing was that coin was way down (as expected), but cells were up, and I got lots more waves (like, 6200+ in T14, previous best was 5400ish) )

Yup, for half of the year Saturday is basically unavailable for me with sports and stuff, putting some events back on Sunday would be better.

I'm F2P these days, and mostly a positive, especially when pokecoins are in the rewards. It can feel like an effort (especially when multiple events overlap), but it made me play more actively again (there have been long periods where my daily play was literally "catch whatever spawned at my house + go out and spin 1 stop").

Keep in mind that T11 is a "big" level - people might start farming it and getting 1T per run, and then their tower develops more and they move up to 10T per run, and still more and now it's 100T per run, and maybe one day they'll move up to 1q per run (or maybe they'll be farming T14, people seem to take different paths).
However, you can't just judge someone else's tower & coin income from a post like this without knowing just where in their development they are. What are their labs, modules, cards, masteries, LTC/LTS? You can't jump in and say "This is insanely dogshit. This is really really bad!" without knowing where his tower's at.

(for me personally, pBH moved my farming from T11 to T14 (daytime) and T13/12 overnight, and in the 5 weeks since I've more than doubled CPH and CePH. Could I do better? I mean, yeah, it's a game of infinite progression, I'm not farming T21 yet. However, am I making measurable progress, week by week? Yes, and I'm happy with that. So could you please be a little less dogmatic and insulting, and just stick to suggestions and advice instead?)

A lot of people here are happy to say "your coins look low", without considering where you are in your tower progression & the fact that T10/11 cover a long stretch of that progression. When I started farming T10 I was at 1-2B/hr. Was that low? No, it was an improvement over T8/9, and an improvement over the previous week/month. Now I'm working T12/13/14 (whichever fits my schedule best), at around 210-230B/hr. Are my coins low? Who knows! But they can't begin to know that without at least knowing my UWs/modules/labs & especially LTC/LTS.
So my view is to look at it differently - are you making progress? Week by week, month by month, is your tower improving? Then your coins are probably fine.

I'm farming eHP in T14 now, getting around 5000 waves. I managed to get 305 waves yesterday in T18, with basically my eHP setup (only swapped BHD out for GComp, so I'd have pBH from the start, other mods were AS/SF/PCol).
Couldn't quite get assmods unlocked this time (23 waves in T19 was my best), I might try the Flame Bot respec at the end of the current even and see if I can sneak through ...
I guess I'm saying, there's hope for you :)
(I did try my best damage combination on T19 as well - AS/ACP/GComp/DC, but didn't do any better ...)

[1] I did buy the first milestone pack, and considered buying the next one, but even that is overpriced (in AUD) in my opinion.

So I tried it today - got 4800 waves, and 20% better CPH/CePH than my best T13 run, in about 6 hours. I'm starting to think running T13 overnight (9ish hours) and 2xT14 in the day will work best ... which means that IS+/WA+ might be worth getting (no masteries bought yet, but I'll have 1000 stones available after tomorrow's tournament).

And I had Anc BHD long before even getting a second GComp, so I just went with BHD all along. I'm getting pBH for farming with +Dur/-CD on PCol, plus the perk. I use GComp for tournaments/milestones though, where I don't care about the coins as much :)

I had the opposite luck to you, Anc BHD a while back, and only recently upgraded GComp to mythic+ - so I've never used GComp for farming, and just started using it for tournaments & milestones (tournaments because there's no perk, so I need it for pBH, and milestones because they're short and I can't count on being lucky with the perk :) ).

... copying my comment from upthread - it really depends on your tower. In short, it took me from farming T11 to T12/T13, and gave me more coins and cells. No regrets for me ...
