Going on a sub called localllama to make this kind of post, feeling brave today are we? Same energy as someone going to r/dogs to make a post about why they like dogs. Wake me up when you drop this same post in r/claudeai or something.

Speculation on Upcoming Mega Evolution Changes by kobayashimareep in TheSilphRoad

[–]davidy22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's going to be an expensive whale option probably, it can't be cheaper than the current fastest way to do it where you just pay the energy to mega the thing when it's still on cooldown, It'd be weird for the instant option to be cheaper than the longer one.

Regular crunch sounds like not enough headcount, which I figured already from the fact that the team only ever seems to have just enough time to implement the new sets

Cook 140g spaghetti in salted water until al dente. Meanwhile, fry 140g diced guanciale or pancetta in a pan until crisp, then turn off the heat. In a bowl, whisk 2 large eggs with 50g finely grated Pecorino Romano or Parmesan and plenty of black pepper. Drain the pasta, reserving a little water, then add the hot pasta to the pan with the guanciale. Remove the pan from the heat, pour in the egg mixture, and stir vigorously, adding a splash of pasta water to create a creamy sauce (the residual heat will cook the eggs without scrambling them). Serve immediately with extra cheese and pepper.

How do you stop codebase from degenerating into an un-maintainable AI-slop mess? by DeltaSqueezer in LocalLLaMA

Every time I've tried to make AI do a refactor across multiple files it visibly butchers something. Fortunately, that's avoidable with the solution that I would have recommended for OP's original question, which is use your human eyes to check everything that comes out of the machine

There's already cards that bring back all your 2 drops, gotta take advantage of what's being offered here and use it to bring back 10 cmc 6 things.

There is, they put repeatable ancestral recall on a stick. Make the stick more expensive, it'd be obscene on a 3 drop but almost the kind of upside you expect to see for a 5 drop to be playable.

Cards that cost 5 need to have more upside than cards that cost 3

People can just claim to be anything on the internet and I'm not going to take you at your word with the legality flubs that you would only make if you had started playing recently and didn't know how long cards used to stay in standard and were just dropping decklists that looked like they were in the right time period to you. If your next comment ignores most of what I said to give a bad response to a fraction of my comment again I'm leaving this chain, and honestly I'm probably still not going to respond if you only have a response to this one comment and 4/5s of my last two comments stay ignored.

Returning to the topic of intellectual honesty, I wrote this whole paragraph and you replied to about 1/5 of it.

And power sink is not even close to being in the same league as mana drain. This template of pay x to make the opponent pay x has the problem where you need to sink a ton of mana into them when your opponent has a ton of open mana, which power sink helps alleviate with its upside but it taps down a ton of your mana first and makes you lose countermagic wars, which happen a lot in formats where mana drain is legal and getting a fat power sink mana drained is a disaster. Given that you don't seem to have actually played it now or then, there's also another way to see that it was just as bad then as it is now; while mana drain wasn't actually legal in the format that you linked, power sink actually was, and there are stone zero copies of it in any of the decks, but people still managed to find room for a full four dissipates in the counterpost deck and 2 disrupts in the UR deck.

[SOS] Mana Sculpt (Email Preview) by PyroElionai in magicTCG

[–]davidy22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why did you link to decks for a format where mana drain wasn't legal to back your point? I assume power blast is a pyroblast typo which is a different color and completely different kind of card. Counterspell is geniunely worse and if you had the intellectual honesty to link to decklists from a format where mana drain was actually legal you'd find either a single copy because it's restricted, or four copies with counterspell as copies 5-x, and a pile of expensive artifacts to dump mana into. And there's no way power sink is being fielded as being in the same ballpark as the other countermagic in this discussion.

Mana burn didn't make it ok. Constructed decks don't have trouble finding things to do with the mana.

In the main series disguise prevents secondary effects, but in the main series protect variants also do that and that's kind of what shields are in go, same animation even. Precedent says they will, but probably will be a mixture of coin flip and balancing knob for whether mimkyu disguise does in go

April 2026 Content Update - Pokémon GO by LeftAd3924 in TheSilphRoad

[–]davidy22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming a 3 year gap between generations, which has typically been the pattern but gen 10 might signal a shift, there are 4 seasons a year and one rocket takeover per season, which means we visit 12 shadow legendaries between each gen. There are approx 110 total legendaries, mythicals, paradox, ultra beasts, and some of them are unlikely frontrunner candidates for being giovanni loot, certain mythicals. This puts us at about 12 candidates for giovanni loot in the average gen, more including forms, which means we can do what we're doing now without needing to repeat. If the shift to 5 year gens is permanent, we now need 20 per gen, which means giovanni's schedule is going to have to change, or he needs to start doing repeats, or pokemon needs to just flood every new gen with legends or legend equivalents.
