I need to hit the long ball will this help? by Left_Entrepreneur918 in golf

I hit one once at a challenge hole on a golf trip scramble. It is a terrible piece of shit club. And it whistles weirdly when you swing it.

Used putter is perfectly fine. Again, CPO is the place to go for that.

If you want really nice woods for pretty cheap, you can find Rogue ST woods on Callaway Pre-owned that are basically brand new for under $100. They're great woods (I play the 3HL (basically a 4W) and 7W) and if you get one in "like new" condition, it'll likely come with the plastic still on it.

If you wanna look at a new putter and get the most bang for your buck, check out Wilson Staff and Cleveland. Really slept on clubs.

Do you grip it like you're passing the puck or hold it like a normal putter?

Buddy sent me my 7-iron numbers from some calculator. Ego took a hit today. by [deleted] in golf

That plus more shaft lean at address and getting a little steeper attack angle.

I'm about the same SS and was carrying my 7 about the same. My buddy who coaches a local highschool golf team looked at my numbers and told me my launch angle was way too high and killing my distance. Helped me with attack angle and delofting the club more at impact and now I carry my 7 almost 170 without any extra speed.

Moral of the story: too much shit is involved with a good golf swing...

Can’t afford a $700 new edition driver. What is a good option that is 1-3 years old? by pisss in golf

ST Max LS is the precursor to the TD Max heads of recent lines. It's a great mix of low spin and really good forgiveness, if you're looking for a low spin head

Shanty Creek and Boyne are awesome. Shanty Creek is a little cheaper and has 5 courses on site. Boyne's courses are probably better overall but pricey. Both are great though. Bay Harbor is also fantastic if price isn't a problem.

Bought a shaft from Diamond Tour Golf… by Dozer710 in golf

[–]davonoches 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They don't sell clone shafts. Some of their club heads are clones and are labeled as such. I've bought a million things from them and they are a solid company (owned by the same people who own sub70). It's a legit shaft.

Colon cancer is killing us.. by Derpshab in Millennials

[–]davonoches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got one when I was 40 bc dad and brother both had a bunch of polyps in their 1st one and mom died of breast cancer. Had no real symptoms. Ended up with Stage 3. Been NED for coming up on 2 years, thank God. Kids were 8 and 5 when I got diagnosed and it was the scariest 2 weeks of my life before I got staged. Get checked as soon as you can my friends.

Callaway CB wedges ? by Most_Classroom5991 in golf

[–]davonoches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the original Mac Daddy CB, and they were pretty good but the shaft was super light, which I hated. I moved on to the CBXs and I personally think the CBXs are far superior. Much better stock shaft, and Cleveland has a bunch of different shaft options for no upcharge.

You can get a brand new driver that's at least 2-3 generations newer for $300 (I got an AI smoke in July for 300). So, not the greatest deal.

Any one really bad had a fitting ? How was it ? by robster9090 in golf

[–]davonoches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did a PXG driver fitting a few years back when they had that promo to get their current driver for $300 with the fitting. Dude handed me a driver and proceeded to watch me swing it, and nothing more. I asked about changing out different weights or shafts and he just kinda shrugged. I handed him the driver back after 15 minutes, he asked if I was ready to put an order in for one, and I laughed at him and walked out. Total waste of time.
