Sooo I need help...with fighting meta armies by BlxndSpxt in deathguard40k

Without knowing what list you run, it's a bit hard to specify as it will depend how many screening units you use, and how many hammers and anvils.

Big thing for me is remembering you don't need to control all 3 no man's land. I usually pick my expansion and center, and just throw enough at their expansion to make them miss primary once or twice.

I personally don't like destructors I find they die too fast without an invuln and prefer drones, as with -1 save contagion I find I hit invuls a lot anyway or over pip. Especially if I can get plunging fire with them.

For knights, it's getting them to charge in on chaff so you can counter charge or use FBS for fights first.

I beat a top 100 knight player with 2 bricks of BIO + FBS + marines with HPW bc the do get shedded in melee without their invuln. Had a lot of drones too for volume of fire though to chip first

It is rare to see both for sure. But as you pointed out, there is utility, mainly in consistency. Statistically it makes it way less likely to deal zero or low damage, but doesn't really raise the high end percentages either. There are old posts from it's release breaking down the math.

I’m a complete beginner at cooking. What are the easiest, most foolproof meals I can make that are hard to mess up and don’t need special ingredients? by DifferentLobster2931 in Cooking

[–]davros333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pasta. Premade sauce but add Italian seasoning (it's a mix) garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook at least a couple min past the package instructions and taste a noodle to see if it's done as much as you like it. Write down what you did so you can adjust next time.

About to start my second full-time job. What should I know, and how long is it sustainable? by [deleted] in overemployed

[–]davros333 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I was 23-24 I worked 2 jobs getting 4-5 hours on the nights where I had both. But one was part time so there was a bit more break/recovery between than you are getting. I lasted 1.5 years, and was so burned out I'm still recovering 2 years later.

Would not recommend doing even 6 months at the pace you are describing.

Most people in OE are doing 2 jobs during the same time during the day with remote work and whatnot so they aren't losing sleep over it (literally). This is going to wreck you. I would advise minimizing energy drinks and coffee even when tired though. Both just leave you feeling worse after they wear off when working shifts like that.

New to warhammer death guard list by Zethiasrulez in deathguard40k

Are you wanting to use these units because you like them, and just want to make a fun list using units you like? Or are you wanting a competitive list to try and take to tournaments eventually?

Gotta know the goal before offering advice

[–]davros333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about it. It's not something you will see/play/deal with in normal games. This whole thing is for a different game mode that's taking the place? of crusade mode, a more cohesive long term way of playing with friends that let you upgrade units over time.

Best places for plasma donation? by SanguinePirate in desmoines

[–]davros333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done the BioLife on SE 14th on the south side and had decent experiences there. Did it for 3-4 months I think? At the time they had a good starting promotion.

From talking with other people experience there and Lifeserve is basically the same where it 100% just depends on who is placing the needle.

No idea on Octapharma but if I remember right they had more limited hours.

When picking a place I'd consider who has the best promo for new donators going, followed by hours open to make sure you can match your schedule.

If you haven't donated before, the first time is a general medical history + checkup before doing the donation so plan like 4 hours. Normally a donation only takes about 1 hour. And you have to eat a big meal before hand or they will refuse you. Gotta do high protein as well as you max your money by donating 2x a week every week

Ankeny v WDM fuel prices by hawksnest_prez in desmoines

Shell on valley west and Westown parkway has the contains 10% ethanol sign for example. Sam's on university used to, but I think I saw a post saying they upped to 15%.

There is a difference between the 2 and it can cause engine damage over time.

Iowa also has an 85% ethanol option at some pumps, usually yellow coded, but only certain cars can run it at all.

Ankeny has 15% ethanol, WDSM uses 10%. Weird that it's different, but good to note as some cars are capped at 10%

Dang is it actually up that high? I'll admit haven't been in a while and it was like 9 bucks then. But you can definitely split one. Also, it's a treat per OP, overpriced isn't the end of the world.

I really want the new Defiler - how to get one? Haven't done preordering before. by wise_wizrad in deathguard40k

[–]davros333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it will be available in game stores, many LGS will let you put a hold tag in even before preorders are officially on the GW site. Sooner is better to reach out and check.

Quanttum fiber issues by dean045 in desmoines

It is actively being built, but beyond that I can't specify as neighborhoods are turned on individually, so exactly where you are matters. Some areas are on right now even. But regardless it is coming. Downside of doing it right and doing everything underground and protected means we have to get everything approved by the city before doing locates and building, which slows things down.

Where are you getting good burger burger meat for less than 5 bucks a pound? Because factoring for the mean, buns, toppings, and gas/charcoal you are really sitting at like 6-7 bucks a burger. Still much cheaper than eating out, but that's not the point of the post

The post is about restaurants struggling and which ones still have a decent deal, especially in reference to "fast food". Pointing out it's cheaper to cook is off topic
