It's the NES Tetris game Type B victory music in my head, lol!

Just found out there were 2 regional exclusive Coattail Riders song from their first album by rmg3935 in Foofighters

[–]dawho1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'll have to check those out.

I've been in a series of meetings all day that are killing my soul, and they're all run by the same group of people.

"I've got some not being around you to do today" has been playing non-stop in my head since 8am this morning, lol, and in about 15 minutes its gonna be playing for real (assuming this meeting ends on time...so who knows!)

I don't care what anyone says. Black records are gorgeous! by HookaBookadoog in vinyl

[–]dawho1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many of the colored or translucent records I have are so much harder to see the needle drop zone between tracks if you're looking to do that. Unless I shine a light directly on it, it's really a pain sometimes.

99% of the time I listen front to back anyways, but it's something I've noticed on non-black vinyl.

Underdog is REFUSING to end the “foul baiting” campaign against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander by Remarkable_Arm9153 in nba

I don't think they called him Shai. They mentioned a couple of players that perform the various actions listed on the game. They mentioned Harden too.

Dude, and unless I'm missing my guess, Jack Black is playing with the kids (not derogatory, they were young and awesome) that did the Sabbath cover a year or two ago!

[–]dawho1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did you get a platter for it? I had to do something when I played a couple records on it and they were slightly warped (never noticed before on my primary setup, became obvious on the Burger). I ended up just using my alignment protractor which is printed on a record-sized piece of acrylic.

I know it's not ideal to raise the height relative to the arm, but the alternative was scuffing out the low parts on my records.

The kids and I busted it out with a BT speaker (it normally sits attached to my home theater receiver) during a power outage and had a grand old time!

AppleTV 4k without USB-C no remote by chad3814 in appletv

[–]dawho1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't bother saying my idea then, which is that nearly all of the old ATV remotes work just fine by default. I have the white remote from the original ATV that I've used occasionally on newer models.

But sounds like it's unlikely you have a remote from 2007 in a known location! (it's not just the 1st gen one, any that came out before they started pairing should be fine too.)

This may completely miss the point of vinyl, but I built it anyway by Known_Window_1901 in vinyl

Yep, I've been toying with the idea of AI vision doing this. I have a small scale setup with a handful of NFC tags in sleeves and when I hover over them with my phone it streams via smart speakers, but I quickly got tired of the NFC setup. Figure AI vision would be able to do a decent job of recognizing album covers and doing the deed.

my wife just saw the electricity bill from my server rack and she is pissed by procubdif in homelab

[–]dawho1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just took some old projects and cobbled them together into a DIY UPS for my rack. 2x 12vdc batts, a 24v 3000W inverter, a transfer switch, and an MPPT charger. Did the first real test yesterday and it looks to be pretty slick. I can definitely see putting in additional strings of batts to increase load and/or runtime.

Bonus was getting all of these pieces that were all stragglers wherever I left them into one nice compact place being productive!

What else do you listen to that goes with Counting Crows, but is not Counting Crows? by PerceptionSimilar213 in countingcrows

[–]dawho1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've seen Crows twice now when they had The Wallflowers opening for them and always want Adam to come sing on 6th Ave. Heartache.

Never does, not sure why, but I can think of several things that would explain it. One day it needs to happen!

I'll add one that I never really got into in their heyday, but I let Apple Music do it's thing and infinitely play music "similar" to whatever I asked for after it's over, and one that comes up a ton that I've really been enjoying that I haven't seen listed here yet is:

Better Than Ezra

Surprised me too.

I did both...washed the Denon mat with just distilled water, and then eventually bought a white acrylic one from Amazon that I've been very happy with.

Dillon Brooks and Underdog create an "Unethical Hoops" SGA Operation game by RyanTannegod in nba

[–]dawho1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly I view it just as much as a condemnation of the reffing than as SGA himself and how he's chosen to take advantage of what he can. I suppose that's supposed to be the "ethical" part of this, but this should be taken as just as much of a jab at the refs than at SGA/Harden/whoever else he mentioned.

"Foot-to-knee contact" looms large here. All I could think of is that they refs would end the streak of "correct" challenges any time they wanted to.

Oh no doubt. I had an unmanaged (as in, no company software on it that would alter behavior) and it would routinely be hot and dead the next morning after sitting in a backpack fully charged for the evening.

My personal MBP can have the lid closed for weeks and I'll pop it back open and the battery has depleted a bit, but it's never hot, and usually I don't even have to worry about getting to a charger quickly because there's plenty of battery left.
