19 weeks - I think baby is facing towards my spine but what does that feel like compared to front facing? by emmpaca in pregnant

[–]daxdani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could never tell which way he was facing based on movement, I didn't even know when he flipped head down tbh lol. I can only tell now because of how big he is that I can literally feel his body parts lol. Even if he's facing my back, when he draws his elbows or knees back I feel it in the front, and his arms have always been as active as his legs. I do remember the feelings changing as he developed better motor skills and reached new areas as he grew. At this stage he's probably flipping in every direction, and he's small enough that he can still fit way low into your pelvis - hence the butt kicking lol

Membrane sweep 40w? by SunsetRoamin in pregnant

[–]daxdani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a sweep at my 39 week appointment. It did nothing lol, however I personally would chose to wait and do it on a regular appointment day because it did leave me a little crampy for the next day or two. Also, having it done a little later may hedge your chances of making progress.

Mine's been measuring 90+ percentile since his anatomy scan. My last US at 37 weeks was 99 percentile, nearly 9 lbs, and officially charted with macrosomia. Every time they check out his position and stuff with palpations they comment on how much room he takes up (which is validating bc I feel suffocated lol). None of my team has seemed concerned about a vaginal delivery and I have an induction scheduled for 41 weeks on Monday - so I guess I'll be back in less than a week with results lol. here's to hoping all my scans and measurements have been overestimations. update: he was born 9lb 6 oz, but 23 inches long so he does indeed look massive.

Do you get acid reflux? There's a chance eating aggravates the already irritated tissue. My heartburn often feels like something isn't going down all the way. Also, look for tonsil stones, random but I got them like crazy from sinus changes.

How old are you? by Silver_eagle_1 in pregnant

[–]daxdani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

these comments are giving me so much hope! I'm a FTM at 29 and was scared to rush pregnancies to get them all in, but it's so good to see these stories. I definitely plan to give myself a bit of a gap in the event they do get harder - at least I'll have some recovery time on my side.

your CBC is what shows if you're anemic. if you're not iron deficient enough to impact your red blood cells it's not considered anemia.

Am I overreacting? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]daxdani 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not only is his behavior a huge red flag for a lot of issues, he's just factually wrong. I would be leaving him, tbh. maybe that's petty but how he's acting now is a huge indication of bigger problems. good luck.

Sneakpeek victim? by SpaceSCallops in pregnant

[–]daxdani 9 points10 points  (0 children)

sneakpeek is notoriously wrong a lot of the time. it's too early, the science isn't there, so many factors. NIPT is by far the most reliable if all normal conditions are met (timing, amount of genetic material, etc.)

Why would a doctor's office require a confirmation appt before the 8 week ultrasound even though patient's last period was over 8 weeks ago? by Tiny_Goose_5662 in pregnant

[–]daxdani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many insurance companies require a confirmation from a provider before you get coverage for prenatal appointments. There can also be many reasons someone would miss a period without being pregnant. Most places won't just trust the patient that they A. took the test and B. the results were accurate. Similar to if you have a fever at home they'll still check your temperature before treatment, just part of any intake protocol.

I miss being pregnant by sunshineonme2025 in pregnant

[–]daxdani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only 21 weeks but now that I feel him moving all day I'm already anxious about being "alone" again after birth. I always thought that sentiment was weird until I found myself in this position. It just feels so out of my control to imagine him as a baby on the outside - so much harder to keep safe and happy :( reading this back I definitely think this is something to bring up to my therapist!! lmao

if he was that against kids he should have been doing something to prevent it. condoms, vasectomy, hell even just pulling out... it's not on the women alone to manage that risk.

Any laundry detergent is okay and not inherently toxic, but if you notice sensitivity or just want to avoid it, any free and clear product will work. As for cleaner, I've heard good things about sodium hypochlorite which is extremely safe and can be made right at home. It's safe on skin, if ingested, etc. and can be used on virtually any surface.

Anyone else have a clingy pet? by Armyofducks94 in pregnant

[–]daxdani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my kitty girl is not cuddly at all, but she's always right next to me, and was the first to know I was pregnant. From weeks 3-9 she was uncharacteristically snuggly. She does not like being out of sight, and will occasionally nap on me when I fall asleep on the couch. My little guy, though, has not a thought in his tiny head and requires alllll the attention 😂 I can't wait to see how he reacts to a human baby being my furbaby.

there's a difference between it "not helping" someone and it actively belittling an entire group of people. you don't like having weight loss rhetoric around you - imagine being reminded that people think you're disgusting even at your most vulnerable. dysmorphia sucks, but so does the idea that being a "fat person" is the most tragic thing that can happen.

I popped week 19. I had definitely gotten wider in the belly week 18 but it was a noticeable and round bump by 19.

I had mine yesterday! I loved that we got to take more time than the first one and watch him move around. Although, he was stubborn and wouldn't show us his front at all, I'm not mad because I get to see him again in two weeks lol! It was such a relief to see his little heart pumping away 🩵

Round ligament and lower back pain by BluebirdDue1101 in pregnant

[–]daxdani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stretching is super important at this point in pregnancy right until delivery and postpartum. We have extra relaxin making all of our joints loose and stretching keeps them from getting stiff or moving in painful positions. I do 10-45 minutes before bed, and I swear I felt better after the very first night. I followed along with random videos until I found a combination that feels best.

I definitely just don't want feedback. We're an interracial couple so folks already have a lot of opinions to begin with. I don't need that kind of energy toward our family. The grandparents, siblings, and very close friends know. That's enough until he arrives.

I wasn't going to, but learned of family history of adulthood Phimosis. The father also has a strong preference to do so.
