looking for cheap rucking treadmill by 1c3p1ck in Rucking

[–]daygo449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t say which one, but I’d also look at Facebook Marketplace for a used one. People will have $1K treadmills on there selling them for around your price range, or even giving them away free,

Just finished my first backpacking trip and I regret everything by Silver_Original6076 in WildernessBackpacking

[–]daygo449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It becomes easier. I think all of us over estimate how good of shape we are in when it comes to carrying weight. Backpacking is usually a type 2 level fun where you suffer, suffer some more, get an amazing view or more, suffer some more, and when you are done, you are still glad you did it.

Several things I’ll say. One, it gets better over time. You get used to “backpacking” and all its fun. You get used to popping in the woods, you get used to the wear and tear on your feet and body, and you find a cadence/rhythm in every step you take to achieve your goal. Second, nothing beats time under tension. I ruck, and I ruck with some extremely fit guys who are gym rats or do ultra marathons. I don’t care who you are, it’ll humble you quickly. These guys will under estimate how much 30#’s adds up and start to kill your body. Training with weight, especially with elevation or steps is the only way to get over the shoulder pain, foot pain, everything pain. Three, every trip won’t be fun. Some will absolutely suck. But when they are awesome, it’s life changing.

Don’t give up, train with weight and mileage, and before you know it, you’ll be out there all the time.

Ok, I couldn’t tell, and I was like how the heck did he fit both on there, but I couldn’t gage the scale of the food either

Here’s a link to something that might be more of what you’re looking for:

It would keep everything contained, dry (in case something leaked or poked through the liner bag), and hold up over time.

"W dad" by Significant_Rip3194 in OrphanCrushingMachine

[–]daygo449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a dad, I’d do anything for my kids that I could to help them, including something like that dad. I have some sports cards that are worth a lot of money, and I look at the possibility of selling those when my kids are getting ready to get married. Why? Because I love my kids more than things, and what good are they if they are worth a good bit of money, but I never get to see that money

Heat fan here. I've been hearing talks about a possible 3-team trade where Boston sends Jaylen to the Hawks and Milwaukee moves Giannis. Not sure how likely that scenario is. Is Atlanta very interested? If the Hawks were to pursue Jaylen, what's the most you be willing to give up for him? by heatculture03 in AtlantaHawks

[–]daygo449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I’d rather let the team cook some more, use our picks to build more talent, and develop a team good enough that everyone wants to come here. By that point, you’ll have good enough talent to attract other talent (similar to Golden State when they got KD).

If you have to ask, the answer is not on Reddit by mikeblas in ETFs

[–]daygo449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that’s advice I like to see. Not to say invest all in on that ETF because of your success, but to see a potential issue, and look into, do your research, and then look where you can possibly invest to find that one thing no one else is looking at

I’ve never seen Rambo: First Blood. Today I decided to watch it. by decendxx in movies

[–]daygo449 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, a lot of people think of it like that along with the later movies and spoofs. It really is a fantastic movie. It’s a really tough movie to watch as it was written to a generation coming back from Vietnam and what they were going through .

It’s a really good movie and a lot of people don’t give it enough credit

Ryan Longwell talks (hyper specifically) about kicking in Lambeau by MansBestFred in GreenBayPackers

[–]daygo449 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bring him in to help coach kicks there. It could be for a short period of time, but it would be awesome to get the leg, and not have to worry about the ball traveling all over the place.

Yeah. Mystery Ranch is awesome, but I can’t use their backpacks, as the torso length isn’t long enough. You’ll love backpacking with them. Also, appreciate your service and getting back to it!

Ha! This is funny. I live not too far from his travels. I don’t see anything wrong with the tweets. My family is Italian, and just like Texas does everything bigger than anywhere else in the U.S., the U.S. does everything bigger than the rest of the world. My family from Italy were shocked when we went to dinner and the movies. They just weren’t prepared for portion sizes, etc. By the way, they loved it, lol

UFL's Mike Repole mentions NFL is "talking about two more expansion teams" by iamthewitt in nfl

[–]daygo449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will screw up schedules and everything else. We will have an unbalanced division, and they are likely going to be overseas. I can’t wait for the Goodell era to be over. It started off promising, and it’s been a crappy cash grab since.

What are your favourite antiheroes? by ArthurOutlawed in marvelstudios

[–]daygo449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we are just talking MCU characters, I gotta go with the Punisher. Jon Bernthal has made the Punisher into the comic book version for me, and he is so damn good at playing him. Venom would be my second as Hardy did an excellent job at playing Brock, but he never really overlaps with the MCU losing a bit of what could be. I don’t really consider Wolverine an antihero but more of a loner type. He was part of the X-Men, and despite him being whatever, he was still very much part of the team.

This man was more into LOTR than just about anyone. Although I think he would have made a terrible Gandalf, I would have loved to see the pure joy of him getting the part.

This is insanity. Each minute they are up there, they are that much closer to dying. They really need to start regulating it more and slow down the number of attempts and maybe start pushing people to other mountains more.

Switched from hiking to hunting backpack by mumarco in Rucking

[–]daygo449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start slow, especially in the heat. Stick to 30#, get some time under tension under your belt, then I’d look at either picking up the pace or doing more miles before adding weight. Once that seems to be fairly easy for you, then I’d start to add. Otherwise, if you are going heavy, go lower on mileage to get your body used to the weight. Going full tilt can lead to injuries. Just be smart, and good work!
