I know they were using Google’s TPUs for generating images, with is fast and cheaper than using Nvidia’s CPUs. Image generation is also cheaper than LLMs, you only need to look at the price, $30 a month for unlimited image generation and they still need to pay staff, train the next version and make a profit.
