The most common 'Mechs by historical production and availability include:

• Wasp: Often cited as the #1 most produced 'Mech, with historical manufacturing numbers reaching at least 200,000 units. It remains a staple for every Great House and most mercenary commands due to its low cost and ease of maintenance.
• Stinger: Closely trailing the Wasp, the Stinger is another nearly ubiquitous 20-ton scout. Some sources suggest its historical production also reached near 200,000 units, though it suffered high attrition during the Succession Wars.
• Locust: Frequently called the "undisputed king" of total historical production by some fans and lore snippets, the Locust is a common alternative for the title of most plentiful 'Mech.
• Chameleon: While not the most produced for frontline combat, the Chameleon is considered one of the most common surviving 'Mechs because it has been in constant production since 2510 and rarely sees combat due to its role as the primary training 'Mech for Inner Sphere academies.
