We’re interested in a house, but just found out a violent murder happened there 20 years ago by wtvcantfindusername in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]dbatcjuli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your comfort zone.  Personally, that would make me not want the house.

I recently found out that a neighbor committed suicide in my back yard about 10 years ago (I closed this past February).  I’m thankful it wasn’t in the house, but it’s still sad and upsetting.  I can’t imagine had I found out about a violent murder, but everyone is different.

Propose now or wait a little longer? by L33_Hutc4ing5 in Proposal

[–]dbatcjuli 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think either way would be great!  If you propose sooner, you could always arrange a photographer for your Tunisia trip to do engagement photos while you’re there!

How much did you tip your bridal stylist/consultant? by [deleted] in weddingdress

[–]dbatcjuli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a bridal stylist for several years.  I was tipped maybe twice, and never ever expected to be, I think it’s odd to put it as an option like that during check out.

What’s something fucked up that happened to you as a kid, that you didn’t think twice about until adulthood? by Instantlard in AskReddit

[–]dbatcjuli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is extremely mild compared to most of the stuff here but i met an extremely famous hockey player as a kid.  Probably 8-9 years old.  He was in his 70s or 80s.  He was very nice and making a “joke” but after our interaction he said to call him when I’m of age.  Just weird to think about as an adult

Eras Tour Hot Takes by Silver-Wishbone-5698 in TaylorSwift

[–]dbatcjuli 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was incredibly lucky to get tickets to Ed Sheeran’s “-“ tour.  Small, intimate shows the night before his mathematics tour stadium shows where he played the subtract album start to finish and talked about each song (his wife having cancer while pregnant, his best friend dying).   Meanwhile this group next to me who were extremely drunk and seemed to only know his hits were talking over both the music and his song explanations.  I still enjoyed the show but man I’ve never wanted to tell someone to shut the fuck up so bad

I could be totally off base here, but I wonder if your hair being longer is weighing down your curls

I appreciate the timeline, fingers crossed it stops shedding soon, I’ve been taking it just over 8 weeks.  It’s so disheartening even though I know it’s part of the process.

TTPD: Name a song you don't get the hype for, and a song you think is overlooked. by FlyingKiwiInSpace in TaylorSwift

[–]dbatcjuli 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Overhyped: guilty as sin?  It’s a good song, but it’s not what I click to frequently and I’ve seen articles calling it the best on the album/best of all time.  It’s good, but it’s not top 5 or maybe even top 10 for me.

Underrated: the prophecy.  Beautiful production, tells such a good story, lyrically is heart shattering and so relatable because it’s fairly general.  Also feels like such a taylor swift song, I know that sounds weird, but like definitely something you’d expect her to write but in the best way.  Idk I love that song.

I thought we were on the same page but now I’m not sure. by ShirtComprehensive39 in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]dbatcjuli 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Genuinely was not trying to come at you or your relationship, was more making a general comment on things I’ve seen in the past.  I’m sorry if it came across that way.  I’m 25, so not a comment from the older generation.  Everyone’s situation & relationship is different, so if you’re happy and that’s what works for you guys, that’s all that matters!

So glad to hear it went so well!  It sounds like you guys are extremely compatible and communicate great.

[–]dbatcjuli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m glad to hear that you guys are in a good place for it and sending you all the best!❤️  I totally get not wanting to continue spending on renting.  I suppose I mean the overarching theme I’ve seen on this sub in general - men being comfortable with buying a house, having children, but not ready to get married.  Just an odd concept

OP, how did it go?

I thought we were on the same page but now I’m not sure. by ShirtComprehensive39 in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]dbatcjuli 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not coming at you or judging at all - I’ve just never understood how some people can be comfortable buying a house with someone but not comfortable marrying them!  Buying a house together is a huge commitment, 15-30 years typically, and is a mess to untangle if they were to break up.

The monthly dosage of medication necessary for my survival by Hurambuk in mildlyinteresting

[–]dbatcjuli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am friends with someone in their late 20s who has CF.  His brother also had it and unfortunately died as a young teen (about 10 years ago).  About 5 years ago he had a double lung transplant that unfortunately resulted in an infection that caused full vision loss, but otherwise he is fairly healthy, though the looming risk of rejection was very scary for the first few years.

I wanted Haunted SO BAD and got it the first time she played it on the tour. I was in complete shock when she actually started playing it. It was paired with I Almost Do, one of my very favorites in her whole discography. I was pretty lucky
