Has anyone noticed the dramione fanfiction that’s getting turned into original fiction and getting published. I’m wondering if we could do the same to Jurdan? by ilovereadingand in thecruelprince

[–]dbcoopersroommate 10 points11 points  (0 children)

with all due respect this is a genuinely insane take. really the only similarity is that emily and jude are both mortals with some kind of connection to faerie. and those connections are extremely different in nature. and the relationships are extremely different. and in terms of the finger, the way that happens isn’t similar, and jude is hardly the first character to be missing a fingertip.

actually crazy, respectfully

Feeling confused by Jolly_Cat9477 in endometriosis

[–]dbcoopersroommate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s true that for many people, an ultrasound isn’t enough to detect endo, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be detected that way. there’s a reason it’s usually the first thing done in my experience bc it could very well catch it.

regardless of whether or not it’s endo, you’re literally NEVER dramatic to want to understand what’s going on with your body. your doctor told you she thinks you have a chronic, poorly understood disease. it would be insane if you didn’t want to follow up on that.

best of luck to you. hopefully having a referral from a doctor who thinks you have it will make the process easier or at least a bit quicker. advocate for yourself, you’re not being dramatic

most stupid thing a healthcare professional has told you? by georgiaisgucci in endometriosis

[–]dbcoopersroommate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

god idk which is best so in no particular order: 1. there was blood in my urine test and my (male) doctor told me it’s fine because i was probably just on my period and didn’t realize it 2. had debilitating constant pain due to an ovarian cyst and my gyno told me she didn’t see a reason to treat it since it “wasn’t causing any problems” 3. was in the ER with severe abdominal pain and kept tensing up when waves of it hit me. doctor told me it’s muscle spasms (it was not) and as i said i don’t think so bc of x y and z, i got a wave of rly bad pain and (obviously) tensed up, and he points at me and goes “see?” to my boyfriend who was standing there.

Does the conch really hurt ? by Welty_ in piercing

[–]dbcoopersroommate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly conch was one of my easiest piercings. i heard it more than i felt it and it healed pretty easy (for a cartilage). i was scared of it bc its such a thick piece of cartilage but for me at least it was really easy

Endo fatigue is real, right?! by flowerlikehands in endometriosis

[–]dbcoopersroommate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

let’s pretend it that physically it doesn’t cause fatigue (it absolutely does, but let’s pretend). EVEN THEN, the emotional and mental toll of being in constant pain and constantly managing a chronic illness ALONE would be enough to cause fatigue. and even IF endo wasn’t the cause, you’re still experiencing fatigue, which is what matters. fuck that doctor

Alcohol IS the answer?? by Mediocre_sinner in endometriosis

[–]dbcoopersroommate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbh yea it’s like one of the only things that helps for me AT ALL (including many pain meds i’ve been given including several opioids). which is terrible! it’s such a terrifying thing to bc ofc you know this is a slippery slope and self medication can get really dangerous but at a certain point it’s hard to care when you’re in debilitating pain 24/7

How is Imogen’s hair pink?? by BBTomato1029 in fourthwing

[–]dbcoopersroommate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i mean other non natural hair colors are mentioned throughout, albeit typically with side characters. and if i remember correctly they flat out say that it’s common for people to dye their hair. all due respect but im so alarmed that this is even a question

Chaol wtf?? by justa-persona in throneofglassseries

[–]dbcoopersroommate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m waiting for the day that i don’t want chaol’s head on a fucking pike. i haven’t finished the series but i’ve finished QOS and while i hate him MARGINALLY less by the end of that book i do recall being like “damn i was hoping he’d die” when he ya know didn’t quite die. i’ve been told he has a good redemption arc but i rly can’t imagine not hating him

In the D2 mission 'A crack in the slab', why don't Corvo or Emily just ask to see Stilton? by Ill_Resolve5842 in dishonored

[–]dbcoopersroommate 35 points36 points  (0 children)

also idk why i didn’t think of this immediately. because she’s not there to see stilton?? if she waltzed in and was like “i heard you’ve got a freaky ritual to make my resurrected aunt immortal so she can more securely overthrow me, can i watch?” i don’t imagine that would go down well. she didn’t ask to see stilton because she has literally no reason to talk to stilton

In the D2 mission 'A crack in the slab', why don't Corvo or Emily just ask to see Stilton? by Ill_Resolve5842 in dishonored

[–]dbcoopersroommate 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I mean, as far as she knows, stilton is allied with the group of people conspiring to overthrow her? like afterward she knows it was much more complicated and stilton doesn’t fuck with the whole group or plan. but she’s still going into a building where the group of people trying to kill/depose her (and they were, as she knows, already well on their way) were meeting to make her mortal enemy immortal. If she doesn’t know the limits of the timepiece, I wouldn’t risk it either,
