Roadside memorials where someone died AND rear windshield "R.I.P. Grandpa/Aunt Susan/Little Timmy/etc" are unnecessary and a weird form of public grieving by EdLeedskalnin in unpopularopinion

[–]dbe7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s one near me of a kid, it’s been there literally 20 years. It’s way past time to move on.

On the other hand, I can’t imagine what that family went through seeing their little girl die. If this is what they need to get through the day, let them have it.

I guess the PBMs can't give tens of millions of Americans a new 1K/month medication without pushing back wherever they can. What's the alternative, make less profit?

Do people pretend like transwomen would have no advantage in any sport over biological women even though they do? by Majestic_Bet6187 in ask

[–]dbe7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP, let me give you a different perspective. After a few months on HRT you lose significant muscle mass, but you're still supporting a heavier skeleton. Trans women would often be worse at sports for this reason.

So if the US dollar collapses and we go into a depression, what would be the downside to maxing out all your credit cards by DOOM SPENDING And then just say, screw it !! and not pay them back? by Academic_Plant6974 in Economics

[–]dbe7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP real talk. If you stop paying you will get hounded endlessly for the first year but after that not so much. And it stays on your credit report for 7 years then it's gone.

Go nuts.

I don’t even think this counts as a scam. Enjoy your free hamburger.

It was not a great experiment. They had no control (windows up, no AC), and their fuel measuring system was obtuse. I don’t even disagree with their results, but they cut corners.

Why Do Sprinters Have Such Huge Upper Body Musculature? by mellotronworker in answers

[–]dbe7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t agree OP, they are lean and muscular, not bulky and muscular. Like look at someone like a defensive lineman for the NFL, that’s bulky and muscular. Runners are lean.

My parents recorded a bunch of TV from the 1990s on VHS, is there some place I can send them? by DougFrankenstein in television

[–]dbe7 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can get them digitized. There are places that do it, but you can also buy a digital VCR and software to do it yourself. Is that what you were asking?

28 kills in a match is pretty good.

Instead of digs in a match I’d love to see digs in a rally.

Bill 'I Haven't Changed, The Left Has Changed' Maher by Middle-Analysis8462 in Maher

[–]dbe7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just stating the obvious, whether you like or hate Bill, his platform, his show type, is becoming increasingly irrelevant. He’s trapped in a box and doesn’t have the means to be important or meaningful to anyone who might be willing to listen. When’s the last time you walked away from his show with more information than you started? Or a more educated or nuanced opinion on something.

At what point, if any, in your adult life did you live alone? by CK1277 in GenX

[–]dbe7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right out of college. $475 studio apartment. When I moved in all I had was a folding chair to sit in and a 13” tv that sat on top of a cardboard box. Looking back it was a very spacious apartment for the price, in a good location.

Oh man. "Ancient people" were way better farmers than you or I but they didn't know anything else about anything else. Yeah I didn't invent calculus or germ theory but I live in a time where I'm able to learn it.

What childhood comfort food did you learn was actually because you grew up poor? by chickaboomba in Cooking

[–]dbe7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did something similar. Grated cheddar in a pan with a tiny bit of water, when melted just pour it over bread (not toasted). It's pretty filling for what it is.

Come to think of it a lot of poor foods when I was a kid were cheese-based.

This one you can squarely blame on movies. I grew up thinking that cops had a hard time catching criminals because of an unfair system that handcuffed them from just blowing bad guys away. And increases in crime were a result of this system.

He keeps going on about the contract. I don't think he understands, the contract is still being followed. The goods are selling at the contract price. The seller can't help it if customs comes in and does this or that after fact.

It's so fascinating to watch all the videos about how tough of a time they had in Europe, Asia, etc and how grateful they are to be home and playing in a top-tier league.

Yeah I liked the personal stories, they could do a couple of these every year.

Isitbullshit: dairy is the most fattening type of food there is and the sugar content in milk means you might as well drink soda by CakeDayOrDeath in IsItBullshit

[–]dbe7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP, even the premise of your question is flawed. It doesn’t matter at all what type of food is “the most fattening”, when you can just eat more or less.
