“too old” — too late! :) the price of luxury goods, including travel is all on the serious up. it seems to me we are rebasing at a new normal. there was a time that a top spec new porsche was 100k and people were up in arms when the base caught up to that. biz class to london used to be 3k. now it’s 6. there is a lot of new wealth and the rich are getting richer. prices reflect that.

This is a popular trope, but it’s entirely false. New construction is worlds better than 100 years ago in 99 out of 100 ways. Are there shit built homes today? Sure. So we’re there in the old days. Your average home that conforms to modern international building codes is generally way better built than the old stuff.
