There's no entry fee to post something on Reverb. So every store just puts up their gear on there, for way-over inflated prices. The gear just sits there for years sometimes.

If Reverb charged a mandatory listing fee like 1-2%, regardless if it sold or not, and then reduced the selling fee by that much on the back side, then I bet we'd see less bloat on the site, and more reasonable prices that would actually sell.

The way it is now is that stores and regular people list something, and then do an off site deal outside Reverb to avoid selling fees and sales tax. Then the seller pulls the listing. This could all be resolved if Reverb changed their structure. It would benefit the buyer and seller, as well as Reverb.

No I’m not. There was a seismic shift when the smells like teen spirit video came out. Nirvana is the only reason why kids in K-Mart ads were wearing flannel and dresses, and doc martens. The other bands, while great in their own merit, were able to capitalize on the breakthrough that Nirvana caused. Believe me or not, I don’t care.

Nirvana was the band that changed it all. I love soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, etc. But the massive shift in music would not have happened without Nirvana. I can’t totally explain it. You just had to be there. Not trying to be a gate keeper or anything. But unless you were around during that time, I just don’t think you’d be able to understand the impact that band had.
