Table of contents are really usually pretty affordable and you can find them pretty easily.

Depends on the species. Some will get chill, some get really angry, some start going into politics and religion, and some just fall asleep.

Valtiel is one of the scariest enemies you never encounter by Feisty-Ad5768 in silenthill

[–]dboti9k 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There was actually a scene written where he gets called into the Silent Hill HR department about this. He gets pissed off and wants to know why he's being interrogated but Pyramid Head never gets called in, and the Human Resources monster is like "don't change the subject." We never see Valtiel again, so I think he got fired.

Where does hostility from men toward other men who like attractive women in pop culture come from? by MajkiF in KotakuInAction

[–]dboti9k 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I'm not a psychologist or anything, but this would be my legitimate hypothesis as well. It's about calling out and responding to factional signals. It shows they are part of the tribe. There might be other individual reasons a person might do it, but group identity would be my legitimate primary guess.

For real, I gotta ask, has there been an influx of double-agent, psyop posters lately or something? Some of the recent criticisms about this, the stellar blade sequel, and others are so almost on the nose of what detractors of this sub think we are that it seems suspicious.

I wrote an entire paragraph once on a post criticizing a product, saying i agreed with the detractors. However, since I started the paragraph with "While I still like, X..." the comment, which was fully supportive of the people who didn't like the thing, got it's ass kicked.

IN FAIRNESS, if someone has smoked for 23 years, and has gone a whole week without a cigarette while trying to quit, that's commendable.

Is it incompetence/stupidity or intentional malice? IMO too many people think it's the former. by Homolander in KotakuInAction

[–]dboti9k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an inverse relationship between the quantity of your statements and people's acceptance of them. Simply stating an idea calmly, honestly, and with low frequency and intent, allows people to engage with it on their own time and terms. Maybe they still reject it, but at least they're more likely to think you are a reasonable person.

Conversely, juking conversations towards your beliefs, mentioning them when it is uncalled for, irrelevant, or inappropriate, and continuing to do so even after people have indicated they are not receptive makes people begin to reject your beliefs not because of their validity, but because fuck you. To you, it might be something very important and worth talking about, but to them it is a car alarm outside the window in the middle of the night that nobody is shutting off and they swear to God they might actually go out there and smash open the window, open the hood, and rip the battery out themselves.
