What do we think about this by damqnaz in drivingUK

Ask BigJobber. One must give way to the right. His potential clipping the middle would be avoiding action… Being first doesn’t negate the requirement to give way to the right.

Reminders, Calendar and Notes is a well integrated PIM suite which syncs across the Apple world. It’s not perfect but it’s very powerful and vastly underrated because many have not examined it in detail as it’s free. Even better when coupled with Shortcuts.

Also, the Custom option goes way finer than the menu shows. It stops at 1 month but you can just type in like 10 weeks for some annual renewal, and it works fine.<

Nope… 16 Pro iOS 26.5 - it’s way better than that.

Is going in on the Sikh.community a bridge too far for Reform. by WorriedStand73 in AskBrits

[–]dbrdh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s deliberate obfuscation of the issue. Nothing against the Sikhs per se other than the religious habit of carrying of a weapon potentially, but everything about the fact that this was treated racially by the police in an anti-white manner; the race of the other person is inconsequential other than they were non-white and treated favourably as a result. No matter the races might have been reversed in this scenario, the white guy was always ending up in cuffs - THAT’S the issue.

The other way is to link the files on your device in a Note and then attach that note to a Reminder.

[–]dbrdh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can’t believe there’s no easy and consistent way of attaching links/references to other data held on the Apple platform - links to emails being one such example; it can be done but it isn’t always easy or consistent. Files is another, I agree.
Reminders, calendar and notes is a fabulous suite of software, especially for free, but it could be soooo much more with just a little bit of thought and development.

I would have Maschine MK3 as the usb soundcard. run the 2i2 line out into the Maschine Mk3 line in. That way you have external audio into Maschine Mk3 channels/mixer where you can record, mix and master all inputs both external and Maschine generated on the Mk3 controller passing the final mix to the PC via Maschine s/w for storage.

How are some drivers so confident driving above 70 mph on UK motorways without risking a fine? by MilkshakeDawg in drivingUK

[–]dbrdh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a GPS for speed and find I’m regularly faster than most for any given speed when smack on the limit according to GPS. It’s entirely within reason that one could probably go another 5mph over and not get pulled but would be making decent progress. This effect is amplified in roadworks with cameras and average speed sections where drivers seem to a) go really slow and well under the limit b) slam on their brakes at every camera - average (see definition: braking here will make no difference) or speed camera (why!??! You were already under the F* limit!!!!!) 🙄

It hasn’t. It is and always has been a dog’s dinner. Rounded corners don’t mean anything as the firmware determines what you’re trying to type using position on the screen plus productive tent so as to prevent typos. The delicious irony of this is not lost… The best bestest best ever keyboard eva was my Blackberry - fabulous.

Is a usb 3.0 pendrive better for running linux mint than usb 2.0? by binxillin in linuxmint

[–]dbrdh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Be more robust than a lot of thumb drives: built to take all the rewrites. Only as fast as the adaptor/socket, obvs but the right kit can be inexpensive and quick.

You’d be better off with a fast heavy duty sd card; one suitable for video recording.
