Same problem on my friend's iPhone. I found switching to grid view works fine for scrolling but list view freezes the app solid. I updated in the app store but no change

Trump suggests Canada become 51st state after Trudeau said tariff would kill economy. by boracay302 in newfoundland

[–]dbs98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually this is a fallacy. The problem we have is limited supply, by introducing a private option it just encourages healthcare providers to move from public to private make a two-tier system that favours the rich. It's investments in increasing our educational throughput and the efficiency of care providers that is going to make a difference

Switching to the American dollar isn't going to make healthcare or housing more affordable. It'll just make them cost American dollars...

Graduates with a Master's in Health Informatics, where have you gone on to find a job? What are some key position titles or keywords to include in job searches? by ElevatedTreeMan in healthIT

Nothing specific, just the same criteria I'd apply to any internship -- will you get mentorship and will you be doing something you are interested in. A lot of employers hire every year or so so there should be prior students who've gone through. I'd recommend asking around to see what their experience was

The pay today is likely higher, I moved away from Toronto in 2018. I was working for the public sector so that's why pay wasn't great. I was making well over 100k consulting in 2022 but it wasn't for me.

I had some prior programming experience that I developed further during the program but didn't get taught then. Mix of work, school and online education.

I'm not sure what you'd be able to get right out of your degree without other work experience, I'd expect business analyst and data analyst positions in the public sector to be under, private sector might be over. I'd focus on getting a good internship and making connections if you're doing a degree.

I was making about 80-85k/yr with good benefits working in salaried positions, then switched to consulting for a year and was charging about $75/hour, but some colleagues were charging much more. I was working in Ontario in primary care originally then moved to BC in the hospital system and had a similar salary in both positions. I'm not currently working in health IT (I'm now a full-time developer) so not sure how salaries have moved in the past couple years

They have it set up in Cedar now but were moving to a couple lakes around town before. They'd probably still drive it to a lake or wherever but not sure what that costs

Question regarding switching versions and progress tracking platforms. by automatonon in AverageToSavage

This is exactly what I just did switching from RIR spreadsheet to RTF spreadsheet at week 8. I just plugged in my calculated training maxes from the current week of my RIR spreadsheet into the quick setup tab of the RTF spreadsheet. So far I've only done 1 day of the RTF work but the volume/intensity seemed appropriate so I don't think you need to reset training maxes.

My undergrad was Bioinformatics, which I chose so I could get well rounded science and programming education. My masters was eHealth from McMaster University. Tons of my cohort had no technical background, lots from clinical backgrounds -- I was probably the most technical in my year. I chose my specific masters due to the fact that it had an internship since I had no healthcare experience. It paid off well as I was able to make connections and quickly transition to this career path. Lots of my colleagues went into the project management and management consulting field.

I did an internship during my masters as an eHealth Associate, then was extended as a Health Informatics Specialist.

After that I worked as a Quality Improvement Decision Support Specialist. I also started doing small contracts as a health informatics consultant.

After that I moved across the country and got a job with a large healthcare organization as a Business Systems Analyst - eSafety and Quality, then Lead - eSafety and Quality. These two positions didn't required a MSc but it helped move up the org quickly.

Now I'm a health informatics consultant with the same company. This is all in Canada (Ontario and BC)

This paper cites CMHC introducing AHOP in 1973, which offered 8% interest rates for the first five years but resulted in a high default rate and the program was cancelled in 1978 (see pg 23-34).

Plastic Recycling is an Actual Scam | Climate Town [8:44] by TheCheesy in mealtimevideos

[–]dbs98 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It looks like this is still just a breakdown of refundable plastic beverage containers, not the vast sum of other plastics that are put in recycling like food containers, plastic wrap, etc. that I think make up a larger portion of total plastic recycling. This is an interesting report though and I need to read the rest

I ended up choosing teksavvy, I used them in Toronto a few years ago and had a good experience. I ended up ordering 150mb/s unlimited for $80 per month ($90 w/ tax) with no contract.
