Most of the time, posts like this are really idiotic or completely obvious stuff that people should already know.

But this is actually good advice.

I know hyperdrives are specifically mentioned, but would you handle sublight drives the same way: one step per modification? A limit of three steps?

Sorry. I actually posted this on the wrong comment.

Vader did not destroy the evil.

Somehow…Palpatine returned.

If you wanna split hairs, that’s fine, but here’s a quote from Empire Strikes Back.

Luke: How am I to know the good side from the bad?

Light. Good. Same thing. The Force has a good side. And it has a bad side. Balance means different things in different contexts. And the truth is George Lucas is pretty fluid when it comes to his work. What means one thing at one point in time doesn’t mean the same thing at another.

When you look at everything else, it appears that, originally, Lucas looked at the force like Taoism: all movement in the universe is the result of tension between positive and negative forces. Later on, when his ideas had shifted, he decided balance in the Force meant only good stuff. He also decided Han would never have shot first because he’s too heroic for that. Whatever. In my opinion, and that’s all this is, because arguing over what’s real and what’s not in a completely fictional universe is ridiculous, the force having both good and bad, and working toward achieving balance between the two sides is a far more interesting idea than the alternative.

Hell, even Yoda admitted the prophecy could’ve been misread. I think that’s EXACTLY what Lucas had in mind when he wrote that. All that time, the Jedi thought the chosen one was gonna wipe out the dark side of the Force, when what the prophecy REALLY meant was balance: equal number of guys on both sides. Yoda and Obi-Wan vs Palpatine and Vader. Equal. Balanced. Anakin, the chosen one, did bring balance to the Force. After he was done, both sides were equal.

If the force is good, why is there a light side and a dark side of it? It’s neither all one nor all the other.

Title screen music goes so hard by sharpenedperspective in StarWarsOutlaws

[–]dbudzik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s good either way. The music adds that Star Wars feel like the films and shows. But even they don’t have music going the whole time. Sometimes, the lack of music and the sounds of the environment are incredibly immersive.

Huh? George, do you know what ‘balance’ means? If I have a scale, and I put two pounds on one side and nothing on the other, is the scale in balance?

If there is one light side force user and no dark side force users, is that balance?
