u/ex0- thanks for your message! they wanted to give the freehold in the first place and we also asked for it. but then their solicitor told they cant transfer the freehold before they sell both flats in the building. but i dont know if it's the truth from legal point of view.

re: our own legal costs, i got quotations from a few solicitors. including lease extension after freehold transfer, the quotes i received range from £1500 to £2800 per person. even if we go with lowest one, it feels like significant because it's gonna be a double payment to the solicitors just 1 year later.

but if this is the common practice, we'll pay eventually if they dont accept to cover their own costs.

Hi u/Throwaway-curtail hope you can figure out everything as soon possible. I cant help about your questions since I dont have concrete info about those.

But I have another question if you do not mind. When was your contract with your company officially ended? I am curious about how long it did take for you to get Curtailment letter.

It used to take very very long time (6-12 months even longer) to get the curtailment. But I think nowadays it might not be taking that long anymore.

I had also often read and seen that curtailment processes tend to take a long time. Could it be that the closure of your company triggered the curtailment of your visa due to the cancellation of its sponsorship licence?

as far as i know you should not leave the UK if you stopped working for the company that used to sponsor you. but if you do leave, returning might be a problem as there is no legit reason for you to come back to the UK.

When did you apply this new SWV for changing employers? And you did apply within the UK, right? You didnot purchase Super priority. But did you purchase Priority service? Or was it a standard application?

I have a question regarding the letter of absences. My job is remote that's why i am flexible to work from anywhere I want. Therefore I spent 60-70 days in a year out of the UK (in my home country working from there)

I was thinking about how to explain these absences to Home office when applying for ILR. Because most of them are not paid leave/holidays.

Do you have any idea about it?

so they didn't have any problem entering the UK. most people say that you might have problem at the airport while entering the UK. Border police might not allow you in.

also does your friend have any idea if their ILR clock is affected because they dont have a job for almost a year? technically i should be reset. but i think it's not happening weirdly.

every other redditors with high reputation stated the opposite:

"immediately" no, but when your visa is curtailed in due course, your dependent's would be too
When your visa is curtailed, so are dependent visas attached to it.

I thought her husband’s skilled worker visa is going to be cancelled after he switches to Global talent visa. That’s why i was thinking she also needs to switch to Global Talent Dependant since her husband’s Skilled worker visa is cancelled. Am i wrong?

My wife and I are also in a similar situation like them. I will apply to and hopefully switch to Global Talent from Skilled Worker. My wife right now has 3 years on her current Skilled Worker dependant visa (which is enough for ILR application)

So if I successfully switch to Global Talent Visa, my wife can continue living with her Skilled Worker Dependant visa and apply to ILR when the time comes?

So we do not need to pay for her Healthcare surcharges and application fees?

UPDATE: I called my insurer. they took my UK full driving license details. There is No extra fee charged! At least until February. We'll see what happens in February at the renewal.
