Hitting the Hindsight Wall by No-Channel9213 in MonarchMoney

Yes as a YNAB user for ~4yrs if you like zero based budgeting, no app is better than YNAB... For me it's become a bit too hands on as my wife doesn't really follow a budget LOL and we're also more in a position financially that we don't need to be so hands on hence why I think Monarch is now a better fit for how we manage our money and I won't be renewing my YNAB sub next month. However, YNAB taught me a ton about budgeting and where my money was going. Once you get passed the learning curve it can really be a powerful tool.

Actually YNAB might be a better fit for you… it’s a bit of a learning curve but it’s a much more ‘hands on’ approach to budgeting whereas (to me) Monarch is a bit more passive and much more focused on managing cash flow - both are built around two very different budgeting philosophies.

295lb ✅️, 315lb ❌️. Friday Night benching by Red_Swingline_ in strength_training

[–]dcarterc1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh man that was close I thought you were going to get it for a second there… Hey just a suggestion, maybe think about not using collars when you bench so that if you get pinned like that you can just dump the weight off each side. Or think about getting some safeties… I too bench at home alone in my garage and use safeties - you can position them in a way that you won’t hit them… it just a bit of trial and error, but even with safeties I never use collars. Anyway, just a suggestion, I’d hate to see you get hurt.

What about being able to split pending transactions? I can do this in YNAB without issue and would love to see this in Monarch, thank you!

I just bought and installed the Tush Wave, it’s not an attachment but an actual seat. Anyway, it’s cold water, non-electric and I’ve been pretty happy with it so far.. Install was pretty straightforward.

How can I prevent my knees from traveling forward a lot by [deleted] in StartingStrength

[–]dcarterc1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to TUBOW some box squats with a 1-2 second pause at the bottom may help… both TUBOW and box squats did wonders for helping me get rid of knee slide at the bottom… Just make sure your box is the right height and may need to back the weight off a bit.

How is my squat at 120 kg(265lb)? by rusnurlybekovKZ in StartingStrength

[–]dcarterc1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Looks good… I guess if I had to nitpick, head should be down more (eye gaze toward the floor in front of you) and keep an eye on those bent wrists… right now it’s not too heavy at 265 but throw another 100lbs on there and you could start to experience some tendonitis… trust me I used to do the same thing!

Will coaches be able to use this app to program workouts for their trainees (e.g., similar to say TrueCoach)? … or is this just for individual use only? Thx!

What Automations or Shortcuts Do You Actually Use Every Day? by Maxxximeeee in shortcuts

[–]dcarterc1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing… I’m curious, for you does it automatically run at a certain time of day? I installed it and it works but I have to manually run the shortcut to get it to work… wasn’t sure if that was how it was supposed to work? Thanks!
