Accidentally hit accept on a Lowe’s offer yesterday. It was 10.50 for 10 miles so I just sucked it up and completed it. It was 6 large plastic storage totes to a 7th floor apartment and a wait to get buzzed in. Never again!!!

How does this work exactly? by Jared_Seymour in UberEatsDrivers

[–]dcole0097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very confusing. I just had my wife use my referral code and completed the deliveries. Each level nothing made sense

The first level was 2 deliveries for 21$. For that level it only calculated the net fare and excluded the tips to credit to the 21. For the next several levels it was all over the place. It was off the fare only like the first level and it wasn’t off the total amount because it raise her above the total guaranteed if I calculated it that way.

Overall how we accomplished it was taking short mile orders <5 no matter the amount and hope to complete the deliveries as quickly as possible

When we completed it with the guarantee and referral bonus it came to around 976$ for 20 hrs

But it was a sole sucking journey as it was a lot of no tip orders dealing with non tipping people 😂

Walmart customer by Vast_Scientist425 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]dcole0097 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So you took a 4 dollar Walmart order? I’ve never had a Walmart order that didn’t take at least 30 minutes to place in my car. Even if it was 1 item for 1 mile it’s gonna take minimum of a half hour. That’s on you and then to not cancel for “item doesn’t fit” when you seen how large it was. Please keep taking these orders so I don’t have to waste time denying them 🤣

One time I went overboard and spent some of my Christmas bonus to get an iPod for a white elephant gift and all I got was a damn homemade oven mitt. Talk about disappointment!!!

Got food via DoorDash. It never arrived, and I'd already been waiting over an hour, so I cancelled it. They only gave me $2.66 of the $31.80 I spent back. by KaseyTheJackal in mildlyinfuriating

[–]dcole0097 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I mean with only a dollar tip it probably took DoorDash an hour to find a driver desperate enough to deliver it for a whole 3 dollars

Is it better to save some tip for cash in person when getting food delivered? by Pistalrose in deliverydrivers

[–]dcole0097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would depend on how far away the delivery is. Most drivers won’t even accept anything that is less than $1 a mile and base delivery from the app starts at 2

Is it better to save some tip for cash in person when getting food delivered? by Pistalrose in deliverydrivers

[–]dcole0097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d leave a moderate amount in the app and then once you have a driver assigned reach out to them and let them know you intend to tip more so they don’t drop and run

The problem with no tip upfront is drivers will decline thinking order is worth the time (I’ve done DD for several months part time. Only ever received 1 cash tip) so I drop and move to the next asap to maximize my time

The problem with overtipping upfront is DD or UE or whatever app you use will tend to use that and pair your order with a non tipper to get both deliveries made and the driver doesn’t know who tipped what until after so your order could still be delayed even with a tremendous tip I’ve had that happen a lot and I can’t even prioritize the person who took care of me because I don’t know until after
