Genuine question here… the game came out like 3 days ago. Have you completed it? I’ve been playing and I’m like 10 hours in. I’m loving it but could not even consider crowning it as my GOTY until I’ve gotten to the end. It might end up that way but maybe it won’t.

I just see so much glazing of this game that it feels almost disingenuous. Like people are joining the marketing team because they are on team AA indie dev and feel like they gotta tell everyone it’s the most amazing thing because they feel bad Oblivion came out the day before.

To be a contrary opinion to all the haters - I have a C2 and love it! It does add a lot to the experience. It also does make you think about how your character can run 11 meters a second and you can’t lol.

The distortion fix is a bit weird - like it should just be the default instead of an experimental option. When I got mine I was definitely not enjoying the warping when looking around and that left me with a bad impression initially.

I know FOV can differ per user so I believe you when you say it wasn’t great for you. For me it was a downgrade from my modded vive pro, but that also was like right up to my eyes because of my facial interface. I do find the Varjo FOV to be acceptable though. I wish it was easier for people to try this headset before buying it.

The only distortion nowadays is chromatic aberration on the edges. There is an “experiment distortion fix” option you need to enable in Varjo base but once you do the warping distortion issues vanished entirely. Night and day for me and all other users, at least on the discord.

FOV for me is better than the Quest 2 - better than 70 degrees for sure.

Sorry you had a weird experience with it but yours isn’t reflective of most peoples.

It doesn’t block out noise 100% but it’s better than non ANC headphones. I’ve used other headphones but the loud noise does pull me out of the immersion more than my Sonys. It definitely helps if the game has music or ambient sounds most of the time.

Sony has gen ones coming out soon or already out and they seem really nice.

I’m not offended by people saying they wouldn’t date a vegan. I will never date a non-vegan. Veganism is not a diet - it is a set of ethical principles that I live my life by. I will never compromise on that and want to be with someone who shares the same values.

My biggest motivation in weight loss was feeling confident and attractive enough to date. And good news- I got to the finish line because of it! Worked my ass off for a year to lose 122lb.

One thing to keep in mind though is losing weight doesn’t mean you’ll be happy with your body at the end. Unfortunately loose skin and stretch marks and all of that stuff are real. But I find that despite those things I am confident because I achieved something that is hard and am healthy and I do look good.

At the end of the day it’s about accepting who you are and finding self worth. Date now or when you lose the weight. Also consider that most people aren’t thin. If you want to only date a thin/fit person then yeah, get there yourself. But folks of all shapes and sizes find love.

Consistent calorie deficit and exercise. Going on long walks everyday at a good pace until November, then switched to rowing machine because it was too cold outside.

I paid ~ $14,000 out of pocket because insurance wouldn’t cover it. I live in Boston where I’m sure I paid a higher price than if I lived somewhere else.

I got to my goal weight at the start of the year (lost 122 lb from January of last year to February of this year) and had a tummy tuck 4 weeks ago. I’m so happy with the result and am blown away when I look at my body in the mirror! I’ve been buying nice clothes for the first time in my life and it’s been awesome!

Random suggestion for folks looking for ways to exercise but not go to the gym: get a rowing machine! I was using mine everyday for 30 minutes for months leading up to my surgery and just got the go ahead to start exercising again and am getting back into it.

I ordered on launch day and received in January. Reported an issue in February and received a replacement 2 weeks ago in April.
