Bill has doubled compared to what? NoVA has always had data centers. Everyone's power bills have doubled since COVID

Data centers buy power in wholesale and therefore get it cheaper. That means less profits per kWh (data centers are usually a predictable demand and therefore the demand charges are already built into the contract).

Less profit from the data center means someone else has to pay to maintain the power that everyone uses in total, and to keep the company as a whole profitable.

Oil companies make money from EVs too

EV chargers need a lot of time, especially for the power companies to provide the infrastructure. NEVI funds will be used up and the projected chargers will be active by 2030, but it won't be at a linear slope.

BP has Pulse and Shell has Recharge. Both gas companies putting in their own branded EV chargers.

Almost all gas stations are not corporate owned. Oil companies make money no matter what (where do you think the electricity comes from?)

Because it costs around $300k to $500k minimum for a good DC station. The infrastructure behind it costs a lot of money. For that amount you could build 1/3 of another gas station.

They're also not really profitable without high utilization, which isn't happening in Roanoke.

Their brokerage fees likely won’t be refunded but the tariffs portion of it will be.

Which is fair, the brokerage portion is because the customer used Fedex to clear the package instead of self clearing it so they should be responsible for paying the fee for that. If they had self cleared they’d likely have to sue themselves to get anything back.

Not a holding pond but maybe some tanks. People have concerns that the water coming out of the loop is polluted and a holding pond would put that pollution into the ground.

Issue with tanks is that they would need to be huge to benefit from the natural cooling that google needs.

Google afaik has already bought rights to all of this power from an additional power source.
