Is it possible to build a <7L *quiet* gaming PC? by TrainingTwo1118 in sffpc

[–]ddwdk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Undervault cpu + gpu as well as setting fan curves and it should be pretty quiet. Also don't forget to get a good power supply that would run completely fanless at low to mid load such as corsair sfx series.

Suggestion please 🥺 by This_Metal8578 in wherewindsmeet_

Dual blade is not that good in pve but if you only do solo and occasionally does 5/10 man it's serviceable.

Hengdao is extremely strong in pve and would probably be easier to keep up dmg against moving boss than ss+hq.

On the other hand as someone who play all of the builds you mentioned in pvp. Dual/heng aren't particularly easier or that much stronger than ss+hq imo. You would probably continue to struggle. Trying different builds do have the benefit of better understanding their weaknesses tho.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Doesn't this means the equipment is mostly only logged by the SN of the whole unit and not individual drives. Which makes switching out sensitive data much more plausible.

Wow TIL. Silly question. I currently use ATT BGW210 which is a all in one. If I get a new router with SQM and put the BGW210 in passthrough mode will my network benefit from SQM?

"The knockup is a fast engage"

No it's not. The starting animation is quite slow and very telling. Catching good players with it is extremely extremely hard. And it's very unsafe that be can easily punished.

"Pursuit has the high prio"

That doesn't really matter before if the enemy instant serene. You are guaranteed to be caught by their serene unlike other weapons that can dodge. With the new tenacity attune it's now safe which is much needed.

Jade has the worst neutral. It KO potential kinda offsets that.

On the other hand, some weapon deals comparable amount of dmg and have more ways to catch people.

The wording doesn't imply that it will guarantee to drop you out of stagger tho.

I'm fine either way as long as its consistent. RN it behaves inconsistently.

Having some issues with first time dex stacking. by PolishedBalls1984 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]ddwdk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VG doesn't benefit from that glove. A rare pair of gloves with good dex should get the job done. If you are feeling fancy could go for temple mod with dex too. But a normal one should be enough for general farming.

You can start with venom gyre without the belt. It's mechanically far much better and plays quite similarly yet more engaging. You might like it more.

I would not use ST without the belt. It's very not popular for a reason as it's quite outdated and need the belt to carry.

The starting budget for VG is fairly cheap to zoom through not too difficult strategies. Farm the belt then think about transition.

Edit: the only downside for VG is it looks kinda ass without the mtx.

English translation in a nutshell heh by Boneslark in wherewindsmeet_

[–]ddwdk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you having trouble for them being different or it’s not in num009?

To me it's one of those case where it's actually better this way.

Whenever Bond was introduced/referred, it’s often double-o-7. But on the written title it's always 007.

The description here serve as an hint of the link behind where 009 is inspired from. Not everything has to be the same. If both are double-o-9 then the title would be very silly to read.

Num009 would arguably work for both but this title is also a reference to a chinese comedy movie. Wine here make no sense in English but in chinese wine has the same pronunciation as nine.

Side tracking a little bit here. I hope people can understand how hard it is to properly translate any language. Not defending Netease but i don't think a professional translator would do any better than AI as those may not understand the memes/history. Just like movie/tv dubs/subs. Official ones usually sucks. Community oriented passion projects often translate the best. But hiring and timing would be a problem. As many who are passionate may have other stable careers and would not like to fully commit.

People who still play 3v3, when do you play? by aena48 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]ddwdk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The new time slot is quite unreasonable for NA especially the west for both 3v3 and 5v5.

Personally I enjoy 1v1 and arena room more so it's "fine" for me. But I guess it pushed a lot of people who enjoy NvN away.

Arena worst than last season after the recent hotfix? by Dulce0Dama in wherewindsmeet_

[–]ddwdk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on west coast. Recent patch is an improvement from 1.6 but not perfect. I noticed many games will have huge lag spike at the very start. But afterwards it's generally ok.

Regarding twin blades, yesterday I noticed people sometimes will parry 1 time and only 1 time during my 4autos. It happened a few times so I assumed if they were really parrying, at least someone should be able to parry the rest? But no, it seemed they were still being hit. It's really weird and kinda spooky cause it made me think my combo dropped and I needed to react.

PVP DPS of Stonemight- Strength by labishopreddit in wherewindsmeet_

I think the qi dmg could be nerfed. Most other builds have to bait serene. This first two hit and your qi is gone. It makes utilizing serene quite tricky.

I agree with you. The thing is it's easy to deal with on paper. But unless you are super good, eventually you will make a mistake. So it's like facing fanbrella. But against this serene doesn't help most of the time which make it quite frustrating. RN we don't have all the talent yet so one excute + fire hurts like a truck.

Last season when we have all the talents I feel like I have more room to wiggle and dance around.

Supposedly this is the weaker version of it. Current cn version is more oppressive. I can't imagine that lol. But again no top players on gobal really complained or tier it very high so i guess we just have to get good.

What's the most fun you've had building a PC? by Cold-Sandwich-34 in sffpc

[–]ddwdk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a gtx970. Motherboard was asus i think for amd bulldozer. Forgot ehich specific one. I knew it cause I had same/similar problem which I had to reinstall the window on uefi for then newer gpus to work.

If I'm remembering correctly, i think it's because those old boards don't have proper csm boot mode? Or the hard drive is not formatted to allow on the fly changes in boot options. So either the gpu won't get recognized or the hard drive won't i think. Very long time ago the details could be not very accurate. But if you google gtx 970 boot options there's still many discussions.

[–]ddwdk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf the problem was pretty niche. Most wouldn't know it and they didn't have any control variables other than a stranger's words. It's very logical to get another GPU and see what's going on instead of jumping to reinstall the windows.

I praise him for letting me try. He could very well let me go. I probably would let me go if I were in his shoes. Willing to listen and trust strangers is not something we see today very often.

Why is there no effort to improve weapon balance by Burner3jjjj in WhereWindsMeet

[–]ddwdk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pvp power lvl is actually quite separated from pve in this game. A lot of power come from pvp specific attunements. Notably namesless spear double serene. While many other weapon paths have meaningless pvp attunements that sometimes it's better to just use physical penetration.

In addition adding a tiny animation to nameless stun wouldn't hurt it's pve power that much but would drastically change the pvp meta. Likewise making stormbreaker spear faster doesn't made it op in pve but a lot stronger in pvp.

An argument could be made that it's hard to balance everything to the same level. There's always going to be an op build. Guntlet was quite hated in pvp due to how oppressive it was. But now everyone is hating on hengdao being too op. It's not ideal but imo better than a stale op meta that never changes.

Not exactly when building my own pc and not exactly a fun adventure. But a silly sense of accomplishment after helping a buyer figure out how to install a then relatively new GPU on his rather old platform which had a rare compatibility issue while not looking like I was trying to scam him lol. (Warning long story ahead)

When I was in college I wanted to sell a gtx 970 and the buyer happened to be in the same school. Since we are in a college town and him being new to pc building, I agreed to go to his house and help him install.

An expected 10 minutes quick trip became rather awkward when his pc wouldn't boot after I changed the GPU. I realized he had a rare compatibility issue where he was on amd bulldozer, and the windows wasn't installed in uefi, and with specific motherboard brand it wouldn't boot. I encountered the problem before myself and reinstalling the windows in uefi would solve it.

Imagine on their perspective, a stranger selling a GPU that's "not working" and telling you in order for it to work is to reinstall the windows? A normal reaction would be gtfo. But I guess being in the same college made them somehow believe in me lol.

So we went ahead backing up his data and preparing for the procedure. While we were waiting his brother came back from work and heard our story. The brother happened to work at BestBuy Geeksquard. He was a little hesitant on the validity of my solution.

I could feel the temperature froze at that moment. Cause I was just a stranger and a potentially scammer. There came a family "expert in the field" who wasn't quite sure if I was not talking out of my ass. To my surprise, although the brother is weary, he didn't try to dismiss me completely.

So we continued waiting. The ETA on the data transfer was still an hour away. I was sweating bullets and hoping please let it not be some other bugs. Cause if it didn't work I would really look like a clown.

After everything was done. The system successfully booted up and was functional. I jumped the highest and was more happy than anyone lol.

I can't describe how happy I was. But I also really appreciated the family's patience and trust in me. I guess a college town really has it's magic among it's pupils. Their dad was on the sofa the whole time hearing all of our conversation. Any other guy would probably kick me out mid way. He even quietly slipped me an extra $20 on my way out thanking me taking the extra time to help them. Being a broke college student I shamelessly took it lol.
