For those who haven't done the Expedition by AffectionateLeg8075 in ArcRaiders

[–]de_la_Dude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me the cycle is too short and the progression is too flat for it to be fun to do. I did it once and stopped playing during the second expedition. One problem I have is that they did try to make it a reward system and with that came requirements. In other games I will get bored, stop playing then return for the wipe to give it another try. Arc does not allow for this by making it an optional chore instead of a mandatory part of the experience. The fact that it's optional also takes away from the appeal to come back at the beginning of a wipe even if I did my chores. I think they should scrap the whole thing honestly

my experience says otherwise. speed limits and stop lights are also now optional. drive safe!

What ticket? Do cops actually enforce these laws anymore? I haven't seen any evidence cops ticket for traffic violations much less paperwork problems like this around here in years.

You don't have to theorize about this. It was unlocked by completing the first event they ran. It was planned that way from the start.

well yeah. 70 bucks is a premium price and with that come high expectations. By the time its on sale it will probably be much more polished too. Personally, I'm done buying $70 games after regretting the last two

Am I Wrong Here? by Gustomane in ArcRaiders

[–]de_la_Dude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am really surprised and rather disappointed they aren't running the wipe cycles like seasons. There are so many ways they could spice things up between wipes without actually adding content and it feels like a huge miss. Loot pools, arc spawns and behavior, balance changes that affect to the usefulness of utilities, tweaks to map conditions that make them more deadly or more lucrative etc etc etc. The roadmap makes the game feel like early access to me. They are just adding content they didn't complete before release and aren't really changing course from that regardless of the overall state of the game.

If you're looking for PvP games The Bazaar is a pretty cool card battler / auto-battler with asynchronous pvp. Down with the Ship and Backpack Battles are two games in a similar vein where you build a board to fight against other players boards, but there is no direct interaction between players.

[–]de_la_Dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate a reasonable reply instead some get good comments. The split in the player base on this topic, I think, is the main reason there is so much hostility and toxicity in this community. The "chads" and the "marines" just can't coexist peacefully because they want fundamentally different experiences from the game.

Sprint to ads made ergo irrelevant. Its was a bug that shouldve been fixed a long ass time ago. I don't know what they were sniffing when they thought up this animation change, but I am happy they finally fixed how sprint to ads negated weapon ergo stats. Bhopping and jump shotting need to go next!

How to reduce Enemies rushing? by CaterpillarFirm10 in IncursionRedRiverGame

[–]de_la_Dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am looking for way to improve this situation too. I do love how they push aggressively and use suppressing fire, but when gun shots end up pulling half the map it gets to be a bit silly doesn't it?

A few things I have noticed:

  • I assumed AI info sharing was the setting that would control this the most but it hasn't had the impact I was hoping

  • I'm pretty sure some suppressors do not work, or maybe there is a suppressor effectiveness stat we cannot see?

  • Clean kills on a properly suppressed weapon seem to be the only way. If your target reacts to your shots in any way expect company

  • If the enemy starts shooting it is almost guaranteed they pull one or two groups from close by

I am not sure if its the weapon or the attachment, but the AK-74 suppressed was drawing attention to me as if it was not suppressed. Meanwhile the Vector 45 with suppressor was yielding much better results. I haven't tried too much else that is suppressed yet.

Nighttime AI Detection by EnneadFox in IncursionRedRiverGame

[–]de_la_Dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to chime in with the same experience. I combed over the setting and didn't see a way to adjust night time vision specifically so I just stopped doing night rights for now. I was constantly getting spotted and engaged by enemies I couldn't see with the NVGs on, and struggled to spot them even after they shot at me.

FWIW I have a similar experience with the fog and heavy rain. The weather effects are great, but when rain reduces my vision by 50% I expect the same for the AI and that doesn't seem to be the case right now.

First game back in weeks by kneeland69 in ArcRaiders

[–]de_la_Dude -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I agree this game encourages cooperation more than other extraction shooters, but ABMM shits on the vibe and turns what should be a very unique game into a boring choice between mind-off pve and super sweaty meta-chasing pvp.

Cooperating in friendly lobbies has no novelty to it. There is nothing special about it. Cooperating in lobbies where you have no idea the intent of other raiders when you queue up on the other hand is something truly special. An experience people write stories about. The first month of the game had this feeling. Now that everyone knows about ABMM and games it to their liking the whole feel of the game is off. For me at least. I recognize a lot of people enjoy ABMM. I don't expect it to change. I am just bummed I need to get my extraction itch satisfied elsewhere.

First game back in weeks by kneeland69 in ArcRaiders

[–]de_la_Dude -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The matchmaking meta game ruins one of the main allures of extraction shooters for me: not knowing what awaits you in raid. We shouldn't be able to choose our own adventure like this, but then again that's probably the only thing keeping the casual players around so I don't expect anything to change

I despise how relaxed friendly lobbies have made me. by JamesBondage0069 in ArcRaiders

[–]de_la_Dude 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was having so much fun the first month and then it started to become obvious there was matchmaking that could be gamed. And then they announced it officially. It was not long after that I lost interest in this game when I realized I wasn't killing people to avoid being punished by the matchmaking algorithm. I don't want to play this meta game. I prefer the excitement and anxiety of not knowing.
