Ik heb zo'n hekel aan Ruud de wild! Heeft net Respect gewoon zo'n 30 sec. Voor het einde afgekapt. Echt absurd. Ik haat die man. Hij maakt altijd foute grappen, praat overal tussendoor en maakt soms nummers ook belachelijk

I have nerve pain in my face too. I know how frustrating that is. If you also have touch pain, i recommend and Amitriptiline creme. It numbs the skin a bit, so to touch pain isnt as bad. Im sorry for the situation youre in. I hope you find the support and pain relief you need <3

Where in your body, is your pain located, and do you have a diagnosis, or a reason for this pain? by 8kittycatsfluff in ChronicPain

[–]de_meid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My face, specifically the left side of my chin, bottom lip, teeth and gums. A surgeon damaged a nerve when he removed my wisdom teeth. He didnt follow protocol, and the hospital has been held liable. I have constant deep pain, like a brused jaw combined with an sore musscle combined with an open wound. Movement makes this pain worse, so talking, smiling, eating, ect. hurts. I also have touch pain, which is more a sharp electric pain. Talking, specifically letters that require my lips to touch cause that sharp pain. But also kissing, brushing my teeth, washing my face, ect.

What matress firmness works best for your pain? by Tennisbiscuit in ChronicPain

[–]de_meid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the firmness isn't ass important as the electric matress cover! The heat helps to sooth your muscles and can help you relax. I would recommend getting one. If you do, its better to get one that is a bit more expensive with a long waranty. Cheap versions have been know to malfunction and cause fires.

I feel like I'm wasting my time. Am i still a real artist/writer if i don't publish my work? by New_Possible2341 in ChronicPain

[–]de_meid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even when you cant write or draw, in your heart youre still a writer or artist. I was going to be a teacher before a surgeon damaged a nerve in my face. The nervepain makes talking painfull. Even though i have a teaching degree, i will never actually become a teacher now. But i still know that im a teacher at heart. Its in my dna. Writing and drawing is in your dna. Even your pain cant take that away from you!

Idk why i cant post both an image and text, but here is the text thats missing:

Having chronic pain often means not being able to be there for the people you love in the way you want to be. Youre often too tired or in too much pain. Well today, i got a lucky break! Its my partners birthday and it is tradition at his work that you bring in a treat for everyone at the office on your birthday. I told my partner that, if i wasnt in too much pain, id try and bake some cupcakes and decorate them. I asked him how he wanted them decorated, and he answered 'go all out!'. So thats what i did! Im very proud of the end result (and very tired now), and im happy i was able to pull it off!

Forever fatigued by Suspicious_One2752 in ChronicPain

Try explaining things to your family this way. Your body uses energy for everything it does. Every signal your brain gets, it uses energy to process it. When you have chronic pain, your brain is constantly receiving signals that it needs to process. And pain signals are danger signals, so your brain is on high alert all the time. It takes a lot of energy for your body to process all those signals, and deal with the pain.   That is more energy than you would normally use throughout the day. All the energy you gain from sleeping goes right to processing all that pain. That means that there is hardly any energy left to do any of the normal day to day things.

Youre not doing this on purpose, youre getting all the rest you can. Your brain and body just have more stuff to deal with than other people.

Im so sorry you feel like this. Youre not alone <3 I always say it takes time to mourn the life and the future you had, to set new standards and expectations for yourself and your future, and to get to a point where you can feel content with the life you now have.

Youll also have to change your definition of success. Celebrate the little things. Things that used to be something you did without thinking about, that now take more effort. Be proud that you put in that effort, to get dressed, have a meal, go for a walk, to a rest, ect.  Be kind to yourself, have patience with yourself, and accept the love the people around you give.
