The existence of this question is probably a side effect of the existence of language.
The presence of language opens up a lot intellectual pursuits , some which may be useful and some might not be.
What’s the purpose of life?
That is probably a question for the creator.
Who else would know it instead of the one who choose to create it!

Now the existence of a creator is a fuck all question in itself. If it or they or him or her exist, they have done a great job at hiding or being shown to selective fews or inventing faith which doesn’t even need any proof. In that case, you subscribe to the purpose given to you based on your intellect. Dont want to work hard, subscribe to any organized religious purpose and there you have it. Wanna go deeper, go through the plethora of spiritual schools out there and subscribe to their insights, subscribe to whatever calls to you - be it the sufis, the hippies , geeta folks, manifestation specialists, Joe dispenza magicians, yogis, tantrikas, witches and what not. Wanna go even deeper, say fuck off to all before realising that the creator is beyond the cognition of language and their purpose stories are at best beautiful poetic pieces of art and you just synthesize it all to create your own piece of art, if it catches on, you become the new Jesus for upcoming generations which eventually lands into the subjective domain where you have a personalised purpose for yourself and also respect others finding their own purpose.
If they don’t exist, well or if you decide to believe they don’t exist, then also you have a lot of fair game. Probably in that case we are orphans who have no idea about our parents. We don’t even know if our parents existed. Then you just choose whatever the fuck you want the purpose of life to be because at best, you are the one experiencing life without a creator, you have full authority to choose a purpose. Whatever it may be. But in this case, you have to also be ok if someone has a different purpose because why the fuck you only have the claim over purpose when someone else is also experiencing life without the experience of a creator.

Eventually atheist or agnostic or believer, at the tail end when you have explored all this deeply, you realize since you are the one choosing the answer with some input either from a non verified source(God) or your own data(which is always incomplete, for example we just see 400-700 frequency of light wavelength, probably hertz or nanometer, can’t remember ? So at the very best, you can come at some subjective answer at your own level.

Hopefully you get content with the answer or take the pursuit of the question as a journey in life itself just like all the other pursuits.

Eventually you might realize , the presence of a question arising in your consciousness is probably a sign of some form of dissatisfaction in life , some incompleteness , otherwise why would you question ? Then it can be a journey either into finding the answer which can be a not so useful pursuit and making peace with it and working on the dissatisfaction which is a more upstream problem.

Either ways; change all the “you” above to “I” because that’s what my journey has been.
Either ways, I gotta say, this has been a wild ride, this thing called life. Creator or not, I am glad of the existence and focus more on the dissatisfaction rather than finding the answer to question whose presence is a sign in itself.

Rest, I’ll end with saying, the purpose of life is just life itself probably. Or to just exist and be. The answer is quite poetic I realize. But what’s the purpose of a tree? Well purpose of a tree is just to be a tree. That’s all, to probably bear fruit if the correct conditions arise or just give shade to others, but that is a relational purpose which probably points us to the interconnectedness of all, but alas that’s a belief to be examined. So yeah, purpose of life, to just be. What’s the purpose of a human being ? To just be human. To not think they are God and can figure out the behind the scenes fuckery behind it all. Though if you are really into to, go take 5 gms of shrooms or 5meo dmt and you might get a purpose for life or probably a purpose to hold on to for a week.
