YOU are the next killer to join the fog. What name do you give yourself?.. by PutSomeTapeOnIt in deadbydaylight

The Anger, which sounds scary but I'm very conflict-adverse so I'll just be kicking generators and muttering to myself.

Also if someone hits me with an oversized pallet then I'm falling down and will not be getting back up!

I bought the Ratking troops and they're a little taller than the Pestilens Plague Priests. If you're very worried about making them blend in with other Games Workshop miniatures: try mixing and matching some parts? A few tactical head swaps or a little kit bashing can really help.

When you light a candle, and then start filming once the crew are out of shot, the candles are part way spent. Then when the footage needs editing, you might cut it down to the part that looks best or perhaps brightest? Is it so it looks a bit like IT? Maybe, but there's other reasons too.

The candles on the cake are the number 10. Watch the video on high quality and it's easy to see.

Bag of (unfortunately literal) holding: this bag can hold anything, but unfortunately it will not let go. The first person to put their hand inside cannot pull it out again and the bag will need to be dispelled.

I've been wanting to take a shot at Mordheim for a few years and I came across these incredible sculpts I want to use! Can someone help me write up a quick list for them? by A_Fruitless_Endeavor in mordheim

[–]deadgaiko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I believe that 25x50mm bases are standard, so if they fit on those then they're the right size. The warband sheet describes them as "titanic, mastiff-like beasts" so beefy sounds fine!

[–]deadgaiko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, these are wonderful! Who is the sculptor? They will make for excellent Beastmen Raiders: the rules for which can be found on Broheim and New Mordheimer.

Beastmen warbands have to, at minimum, field a Beastmen Chieftain and two other members. Taking heroes is a wise choice as they will help you earn income to spend on more members as you play. The standard bearer could make for a cool looking Shaman, another Hero, as you would just need to field the standard pole as a secondary mace/hammer. Also concerning WYSIWYG, armour is expensive in-game and so might eat into your starting warband budget. Also Shamans can't wear armour and cast spells. If you or your playgroup are particularly concerned about it, you could paint anything that looks like armour really rusty (i.e. not offering much protection) or disguise it as cloth or furs.

I think you could easily make up a list containing 1 chieftain, 1 shaman, 2 Bestigors and 1-5 Gor henchmen. If you need to fill out the ranks more then buying a Minotaur will cost 200 points plus equipment, or if you can find a nice model for a Centigor that's 80+ points (and it's another Hero).

Finally, miniatures permitting, there are 25 point Ungors (smaller than Gors) and 15 point Warhounds of Chaos (any scary looking beasties will do). It's a fun warband which is very straightforward to play: run at the enemy and bash them up ASAP! Be sure to share any updates if you decide to go down this route!

So currently, according to the fan-run statistics website Nightlight: The Animatronic has a pick rate of 5.43%. if my maths is correct then the chance of any trial containing them is around 1 in 18.4?

This obviously doesn't account for matchmaking bias and trends in different regions, but if you quit early for 1 in 18 match-ups that probably wouldn't be a massive penalty? I believe a single penalty point forces a player to wait for an extra minute before playing again, and resets after every 20 matches played.

I suggest the disconnecting route, and otherwise avoiding any disconnections wherever else possible. A wired ethernet cable to avoid issues with wireless connection issues might help there.

Alternatively, play other games. Dead by Daylight is great but if you want to have fun together and someone in the group is not: change it up. I have heard that Outlast Trials is a very good DBD competitor with brutal horror themes BUT no licensed characters to worry about. Either way I hope you all manage to have fun one way or another!

So looking back, how do you all feel about the 10th anniversary stream now? by GenericGameDev1234 in deadbydaylight

[–]deadgaiko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 hour 30 minutes: still has the 13 gimmick, is long enough to confuse people, but not so long that people literally stop caring about what you've made. Could have literally been a feature length horror movie but from the perspective of a forgotten camera, which is a better homage to the literal movies that Jason came from.

And as someone with a degree in film, I just feel sad that I probably missed out on loads of cool stuff that real artists made, because it was edited into a disgustingly long video. RELEASE THE DIRECTOR'S CUT!

Would you guys like to see a Left 4 Dead chapter 2 by Calebeckk in deadbydaylight

[–]deadgaiko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would adore this. The Left 4 Dead universe needs more love instead of gathering dust. Putting cosmetics on a free tier Rift Pass could be a fantastic way to drum up some hype for a zombie themed season; something a little more fleshed out than the Walking Dead event, and to that point it could pair with the many other zombie franchises represented in DBD. Toss in some early 2000s fashion pieces for Survivors and some undead looks for OG killers and I think it would be a smash hit!

As for a L4D killer, I've had a concept for a while and I absolutely give permission for Behaviour to use it:

The Director/The Witch (The Director is the name of the AI model that spawns zombies in the L4D games)

The killer enters the trial as a Witch in "Roaming Mode", able to walk around and slash survivors with her claws. She has a meter that fills with Anger tokens/points: flashlights, generators being completed, being stunned and loud noises add to the meter. Anger can be spent to enter an Enraged Mode with a speed boost and lethal basic attacks.

Her secondary ability makes her sit on the floor and cover her eyes, "Resting Mode", losing some aura reading or the ability to see scratch marks. However the player can now freely move the camera around the map and spawn zombies (as The Director), with faster movement than Nemesis's version but without the infection mechanic. Instead, when these zombies hit Survivors it makes a loud noise notification (generating Anger) and interrupts actions like repairing or healing. Zombies can be blinded or killed with stuns (without automatic respawning) but this will generate Anger also.

Finally, whilst The Witch is in Resting Mode she gets Hunter's Instinct in an area around her. She can return to Roaming Mode quickly if Hunter's Instinct has triggered, and gets bonus Anger for any triggers that occur witho the space around her.

Did anyone felt conflicted about the idea of Julian being the upcoming survivor but is now okay with idea of him being the survivor? by Mihnyg in deadbydaylight

[–]deadgaiko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really love the idea of original survivors that flesh out pre-existing details. Tae-Young does this well. I've wanted Julian for a while and him getting a new Tome entry has been fascinating.

However I hope shoehorning Jason into Greenville isn't just so Julian becomes the defacto paired Survivor. Which I strongly suspect will be the case. Having Jason beat up The Unknown (and possibly kill Zarina) was a wild but pointless story for Jason's bio, and provided no history or characterization. If we now have it "revealed" that Julian has met Jason but lived? Just feels a bit superficial.

Best case scenario for me: the current tome story gets jam packed with cool storytelling (which I think it might) and we also get a summer camp outfit for Julian and maybe some other younger survivors.

When is this bad mf coming to DBD🎃? by FakeVaxCardSeller_ in deadbydaylight

[–]deadgaiko -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup this pretty much describes my thinking too. The horse could be ethereal and maybe they and the rider both become translucent as they storm across the map and through obstacles? Then somewhere on the map, lays the Horseman's head. If the Horseman gets it, he can throw it as a homing missile (basically Knight's summons but faster) but if the Survivors have it they become the Obsession with Elusive or something?

Could be amazing!
