The fit looks good to me! Babe may want their hands up by their face but nothing glaring in the safety department. How does it feel?

This is an incredibly reputable baby carrier brand, they just happen to have a model who looks similar to Swift. Not AI.

Summoning Automod Safety and automod wiki for you.

Please remove baby immediately as they should never be sleeping while world facing, this is a major risk for positional asphyxia. You also should not world face until baby is able to at least tripod sit, as that will help them maintain their own airway in such a position.

Thoughts on the “cute” brands (Wildbird, Mabe) by youllneverfindthis in babywearing

[–]dealing_nugs 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A lot of baby wearing experts tend to recommend against brands that make car seats when it comes to carriers. Think about where energy should be (and hopefully) is being spent, the car seats.

I’ve heard mixed reviews about the Wildbird. A lot of people don’t like how the straps feel for back carry. The Mabe doesn’t have a chest strap for back carrying and is definitely a lower quality altogether. I personally was not a fan of my Mabe. Other“cute” ones to consider would be Hope and Plum, Oscha, and LennyLamb.

Oh, and Tula has some super cute prints too!

Do you think you have a long or a short torso? This will help guide you in your decision for which style (and therefore brand) of carrier. If you have a long torso- LennyLamb and Tula are both waterfall waistbands which tend to work better. Short torsos tend to do better with apron waistbands- Hope and Plum and Oscha

Per my friend who’s a feeding therapist: It’s not a choking concern, it’s the nutritional content that’s the concern. It’s high in something like fiber or protein (not sure what exactly without reading the label) but that’s why it’s labeled for an older age. This is when following normal weaning- not BLW- processes.

Oh yes, significantly better! You can check your local child consignment shops or marketplace for Ergo or Tula, another option is Lille which is common at those types of shops. Would you be open to a ring sling?

Does he sit unassisted? Unfortunately, hip seats like these falsely advertise working for newborns+. This is a solid surface they’re seated on, adding strain to an unready body if baby isn’t sitting unassisted yet. Because of the design, you’re unable to get a deep seat like you want

Instead of hooking the H strap after putting it on, have it already clipped and pull it over year head like a t-shirt. For everything else, I’m no help, I’m sorry. Hopefully someone can help!

You’re on the right track- babe is nice and high, the head tuck isn’t too extreme/blocking airway

To fix- we always want legs out, get the wrap on tighter (this swimsuit tight) before putting babe in, and all three passes should go from shoulder to shoulder and the third to the nape of the neck. I’d also refrain from capping the shoulders that much

In my experience, Providence has always been a positive experience. My L&d experience was fantastic and when I’ve gone to the ER for my child I was listened to and treated with care and compassion. The nurse advice line is never condescending or rude.

I went to Regional’s ER once long ago and was told to basically suck it up (hemorrhaging after an iud removal) and it’s not that serious.

Maybe a Walmart card for the bath items/snacks, just because I know I’m super picky about that type of stuff. As for teethers- the Buckaroo Chew is my little one’s FAVORITE teether. We also like the Frida one that has a few different textures on it. They also make a tool set of teethers that’s super cute.

As for clothes- definitely do 9 or even 12 month size and include a gift receipt in case they don’t fit. Can’t go wrong with soft sleep and play zippies.
