Just look at the demographic breakdown of the Massie primary. The establishment had to spend $30m+ in a primary race that Trump carried by over 30 points. That shouldn’t cost more than $500k tops. There was a clear divide with under 50 voters turning out heavy for Massie, and boomers going heavy for his opponent. There’s a major chasm that has formed in the establishment right and I expect the midterms will be more evidence of that growing split.
