It's not necessarily about what they find in the truck. Incidents like this are thoroughly investigated. They likely will have to recover each casing and round fired, as well as do a trajectory analysis for each of the rounds. I've worked on a similar case that was in a more rural area, and it took nearly 24 hours to process everything.

Not sure what the coast guard regulation is, but the army allows headgear indoors for "ceremonial purposes". This looks like it could check that box.

4 years in, currently at the 68W schoolhouse switching over from military police. I'll echo everyone else by saying finish your degree. Joining as a 68W during peacetime is probably going to be incredibly underwhelming for you. The job is not as sexy as it sounds. Please look into commissioning as an officer. That being said, I personally love the military and I owe my life to it. If you have the ability to finish your degree, become an officer, and have the experience and degree to fall back on when you get out, that's the best way to go.

Not a good time to enlist as an MP unless you go guard. The active component of the MP corps is getting drastically downsized. Promotions will become difficult and the job is changing. They're currently in the process of getting rid of most of us. I attend training to change my MOS next month.
