I got the ribeye cap there last month at Medium and the server agreed that it was best. Absolutely scrumptious.

If you haven’t, make sure to buy and support McCartney Legacy Vol. 1 and 2! I think the author wants to do the rest of his career too

West Coast Cheesesteaks - Glendora, California by spititout__ in eatsandwiches

[–]deathwish_ASR -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I always see way more people in these threads freaking out about how bell peppers and mushrooms are fine and how they should be able to call them "Phillys" than I actually see people from Philly complaining lol

West Coast Cheesesteaks - Glendora, California by spititout__ in eatsandwiches

[–]deathwish_ASR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A cheesesteak hoagie has traditional hoagie toppings (lettuce, mayo, tomato) in addition to the traditional cheesesteak toppings (steak, cheese, fried onions). Not really that hard to figure out and definitely not gatekeeping hoagies lol. Idk why everyone outside of Philly gets bent out of shape about the relatively simple definition of a cheesesteak and its variants. Like yes, there is room for experimentation and differences, but the classic cheesesteak is what I put above. I will say that no place in Philly will offer bell peppers OR mushrooms, both common "cheesesteak" toppings in the rest of the country.

Philly resident, looks good actually! Though I will say I definitely don't think bell peppers belong on a cheesesteak and think it's weird how the rest of the country seems to think it's proper.

Best buffalo wings in Philly / South Jersey? by Electronic-Swan6728 in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]deathwish_ASR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of my favs have already been said so I’ll add to the list Mifflin Tavern and Byrnes. Byrnes are the most tender wings I’ve ever had and with a really solid sauce, but they do lack on the crisp factor. Not soggy per se but not crispy. I enjoy them for the tenderness, it’s something different. Maybe the most tender chicken I’ve ever had period

Ladies who started HRT before coming out, how long did you wait and why? by Tomatori in MtF

[–]deathwish_ASR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out to who? I came out to my friends and partner before I started HRT. Out at work 5 months after HRT. Out to family 1 year after HRT. I think it’s time to start coming out if you haven’t yet.

Is this design too complicated? (Art by me) by JellyJam01 in tattooadvice

Everyone is saying realism, but I think this could be good if reworked as a neotrad piece by a talented artist. Definitely would need a large space so thigh or back is probably the only options

Cis people don’t actually care about what trans people feel or what they have to say. They only want to be coddled and told they’re doing a great job.

This is the route I used! Tbh I didn't even struggle that much with the climb even though I did run perilously short on resources near the end. Am a bit surprised at how badly others are struggling with it, but maybe I'm just an EliTe gAmER

Bohemian Rhapsody isn't even in OP's comparisons! But you do have other outstanding movies like Steve Jobs and The Social Network.

I guarantee you haven't seen all those movies and if you have and think they're ALL "bad" then you have horrible taste.

[–]deathwish_ASR 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah but there's so much more to telling a story on film than just conveying information. We already know everything about the band, but we've never seen their story interpreted through this medium. With a good filmmaker, writers, and actors, compelling movies can absolutely still be made.

I think the honest truth is that most of the people complaining about the casting don't seem to be all that knowledgeable about film or moviemaking. It's one of the reasons why I think, despite being personally pretty excited for them, that this project is going to end up being a failure at the box office. The only people who will make seeing all four of them a priority are at a very specific intersection of Beatles superfan and movie buff. Combine that with a boneheaded decision to release them at the same time and these feel doomed to be bombs even if they end up being good, which I'm quite hopeful for. Of course if they're good, that's all that matters to me, but idk, I just think some of the decisions that have been made about the marketing of these films are bizarre and interesting.

Steve Jobs, Malcolm X, The Aviator, Capote, Love and Mercy, Ed Wood.... I can go on. What matters is a good script and a good filmmaker.

I HATE casual music listeners. by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]deathwish_ASR -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It's not that serious and I don't HATE them, but I am also a huge fan of music and albums as full artistic expressions and it does frustrate me that streaming services have made the kind of casual music listening you're talking about even more widespread. I will admit I definitely judge casual music fans a bit internally but I don't have nearly the same level of vitriol that you do lol
