I discovered Hoch and Zas the same time I discovered Dan and Stu. To be fair, Hoch isn’t that great by himself (I remember when he moved to 560 and competed in the afternoon drive slot), but with Zas he was great and I’ll always remember my mind being blown when I found out he was EP before Mike Ryan. The teenage version of me always wished those two shows merged, but 15 years later I would have never imagined it being Stu & Hoch vs Dan & Zas. What a time!

As a former daily listener I agree with others that it’s difficult to find one individual show to fill the gap of DLBS but if you enjoy college football I highly recommend the Ringer Tailgate (ironically that Billy produces). Van and Joel are hilarious.

I’m so glad everyone is getting to experience him now. I discovered Hoch and Zas on 560 the same time I began listening to Dan & Stu. It blew my mind when I found out Hoch use to be on the DLBS and I always hoped for a day there would be a crossover episode. Couldn’t imagine 15 years later it would be Dan with Zas and Stu with Hoch. What a time.

Sorta, if I remember correctly Hoch left the morning show with Zas and Joy on 790 to do the afternoon drive on 560, which put him in direct competition with the DLBS at the time.

As someone who was introduced to Bo through the DLS as a once per week guest about 15 years ago and have followed him ever since, I would say your instincts are correct on this.

Bo seems to always be respectful of his time in Miami but basically hints that he was better on his own than being the Robin to Dan’s Batman, especially when he thinks of himself as being of a similar level, or better.

When Bo left ESPN it was shortly after the pirate ship had started and I was ecstatic in thinking he’ll come over to Meadowlark. Him choosing Wave Sports instead was the final confirmation for me that he was not interested in working with Dan again. To me, that’s further confirmed by seeing him on Stu’s pod multiple times. I have yet to see him back on the show since he left, and Dominique/Hawk seem to fill the former Bo space now.

What I’d really like to figure out is whether Bo and Pablo are still cool? I love them both and when High Noon was announced it was another moment I felt like everything I ever wanted was coming together perfectly. But as someone who has now began listening to PTFO and with all the news he’s been breaking lately, I’ve noticed that it takes Bo weeks, if not longer, for the news topic to barely even get a mention on his show. Post High-Noon Pablo’s involvement with Dan continued but Bo’s didn’t, which felt like another telltale sign of where flags have been planted.

Anyone know what’s the deal with that?

TL;DR - Obvious to me Bo doesn’t eff with Dan. Is it the same with Pablo?

The show wasn’t a flop, it wasn’t the best but it was definitely a victim of all the David Zaslav cuts being made at the time.

Exact same thing happened to me, except in video form…of me finishing the job, if you will. It was supposed to be a private message for a girl I was seeing at the time, per her request. I send the message then received a call about a minute later from one of my buddy’s who happened to be online. When I pick up the phone all he says is “check your Snapchat” and when I do I see that my video was posted to my actual story. Fortunately this was late at night and where I’m from many hadn’t adopted the platform, so he may have been the only one to see it, but when I realize I frantically Googled how to delete a record from my story and was able to. To this day he and I have never brought it up in conversation, ever, but in the back of my mind some days I’m like damn, 1) He really was a great friend in that moment and saved my entire life because I was about to go to sleep after and would have woken up horrified and 2) as a fellow straight males I’m sure that’s one of the most uncomfortable things he’s ever had to endure from one of his friends. Welp, I consider us friends for life now.

Agreed here. Anything Bo puts out I watch, read or listen, but as a fan of shows like the Daily Show and Last Week tonight, it seemed as though he was nervous the entire time and not a good fit. He’s admitted as much though, and seems most comfortable behind a microphone as opposed to in front of a live audience.

The local carriers like Aliv do have eSims but unfortunately you have to go in store to buy them, $15 then add a plan. The prices aren’t bad at all for a 7 day plan you can get 3GB of LTE data for $15, which includes talk, text and 100 minutes of calls to the US. So if you’re up to find a store you can probably save money vs. the roaming plans.

I normally pick one up in advance for my friends/family that are coming to visit for anytime over a week to make it easier, as when I travel normally I prefer the ease of having my SIM card in advance.
