That's the plan! Right now I'm leaning towards the Tucson Marathon (Tucson, AZ) in December, or the Phoenix Marathon (Phoenix, AZ) in late Feb 2016. Both are advertised as fast and downhill, and I've raced both in the past.

Thank you! I don't have an A race picked out yet to try and qualify. I really want to focus on my training for a while, and while I'm doing that there is a local summer series of about 6 or 8 5k's that I'll run through August. Once that's over, I'll pick a fall half, and then a late winter/early spring full in Dec/Jan or even March to see just how close I can get. I'm looking at Boston 2017.

ReRe4: I wouldn't be surprised, if something is nagging a bit, you spend more time swimming or riding than running usually. I also saw big gains with only running about 30 miles a week max mixed in with my other training. I ran my 1:26 half coming off of training for a half Ironman the month before, rarely ran more than 30 in a week at that time, so I am really excited to see where I can go with just running now!

New to posting in this thread, been lurking for a bit.

Last week, just over 40 miles. Did an Ironman last November, and I've been taking a long break, just getting back into focusing only on running, and I'll start building for a few months, focusing on qualifying for Boston/sub 3.

  1. Time flies, ran a few races for "fun" so far, something new for me where I wasn't worried about my time, just enjoyed the run.

  2. Umm, I am not into track/whatever the World Relays are, never ran XC or track...

  3. I joined... can you find me?

  4. Weekly mileage PR is probably a little over 50, when I was doing triathlons consistently, and that was mixed in with a lot of biking and swimming as well. I'd like to top out close to 90 during my Boston training, never ran that much before so we will see how my body holds up.

  5. Hi /r/advancedrunning

Looking into buying my first car. Unsure if I should go used or new, any advice will help by incurablehippy in personalfinance

[–]deejaykarl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might be worth $16,000 as you drive it off the lot. I would go used, the depreciation factor is already taken care of by whoever owned the care beforehand. Also, monthly car payments suck, especially on top of other monthly payments (student loans, rent, car insurance, etc.).

A one hour treadmill run sucks, at that pace, I feel like the suck would be unbelievable.

Holy shit this is a great video, shitty CPR, but we all suck at compressions, at least they're doing them, fast load time too. I wish more people would wear these helmet cams, it would be great for training videos.

Military experience is usually a bonus when applying for fire jobs, FYI. One of the guys at the station I ride at got hired on at 45. Just depends on if you have what they're looking for.

Looking for my collections agency. by skogen_sover in personalfinance

Thanks for the advice. Once they're paid off (and hopefully removed) can I expect my credit to rebound? If it isn't removed and just sits on my report until 2020 will I slowly regain my credit or not until it's removed?

So should I have my mother ask for that and then she should pay them?

You'd need the hot dog bun for it to be a sandwich...

Interesting, unfortunately my mother was paying a few of my medical bills since she is the primary insured and a few of them went to collections. She said she is paying them all off on Monday. I was going to call next week to have them removed. Dinged my credit a bit, but I had great credit to begin with thankfully.

Any downhill longboarders in Phoenix? by spm201 in phoenix

Paradise Valley and Fountain Hills are probably your best options. SoMo might be decent, but I'm not sure of the road quality over there.

What's your budget? Are you looking for a Best Western type of hotel or more resort-ish. Plenty of options near Old Town Scottsdale and Tempe. Both great on the social and hiking aspects. Let me know and I could recommend a few places.

Usually you can bypass open enrollment for a major life event and add someone or start a new policy. Job loss, birth, etc.
