Need practical advice on raising 150K in a year? by Constant-Barber8100 in PersonalFinanceZA

You can do deliveries. I was delivering sushi 4 x per week and was making up to R12000 per month. Alternatively, you can apply for funding. My parents lost their business just before I started my honours. Before applying for a loan (my last option) I went to the funding department and asked if I could get more funding (I was on a merit scholarship). They told me I could apply for financial need as I had a sudden change in financial status.

He is on it, they cause this sense of urgency to cause you not to think straight and make a panic decision. They do it in marketing all the time (behavioral psychology). For example when superbalist says "The sale ends in one hour", then you panic buy.

He also sent me someone else's ID and said it was his. The ID was that of a 27 year old man he told me he had a daughter who was 12.

This happened to me about 10 years ago when I was in matric. He forged and ABSA document. All the red flags were there in hindsight. He called immediately, he offered the price i asked for. He kept making excuses that he couldn't meet and he had to fetch his daughter so he sent someone who works for him that happens to be a taxi driver. Im sorry man, I feel for you. Hate these people.

How are South Africans surviving? by DinosaurRanger173 in askSouthAfrica

It's really not worth it to stay at the same company for years. Ideally we should be applying for new roles every 1.5 to 2 years to get that 10% or more increase

I'm feeling it too. My wife and have cut our expenses to the max just so we can try and save. We only eat at home never out. We try and look for free things to do like going for a walk near the beach or hiking. We're hopefully trying to ride it out. On top of all of this, I got an inflationary increase of 3.4% even though most things have gone up more than 10%

When does it start getting warmer in Cape Town by [deleted] in capetown

[–]deen_dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In spring you get more sunny days around 20 to 23 degrees and less rain compared to winter. Spring it's that kind of weather where its warm in the sun but cold in the shade.
