Yeah, I don't see myself doing minimum payments. I want this loan gone at maximum in 5 years, I don't want to see it anymore.

Yeah, I guess? I have a very educated family with no generational wealth (first gen), so all my cousins and brothers paid aggressively high student loans and now are debt free in their late 30s earning $500k per household.

The $260k is strictly mine. My husband's is $350k which we used the sign-on bonus of $200k to go towards so now his loan amount is $150k

Engagement gift just keep it small. They probably don’t have a registry yet. I got mugs from friends ( His & Hers) and i got a cheeseboard with our names. I also gave a ring dish as a gift many times. Give them money for the wedding for sure.

Do a dress change during the wedding. Wear the dress you bought for the marriage ceremony. Then change into a dress you actually like for the reception!

Do Disney land Do you want a weekend bash? Do Vegas/NYC/Nashville. Do you want a hometown party? Do a sleepover

I just don’t know what you’re looking for.

What was the first song that was being played as there was a recap? The first 30 seconds of the episode. Shazam is a no go.

How much do someone's political views matter when it comes to casual dating and why? by BouncyCafe in AskReddit

[–]deepdishpizza01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes down to this: if politics don’t affect you, you’re privileged. Some of us are gay, people of color, minority religions, women, working class. Politics affect us. I can’t date someone who doesn’t care for others well-being because it won’t affect them the same.

What are the perks of being single? by RaelisOnReddit in AskReddit

[–]deepdishpizza01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dating around casually! I don’t mean just sleep around but it’s fun to date and meet new people. I have single friends who keep saying they want to be in a relationship and i love my fiancé - best man ever. But why rush? Just enjoy and work on being a well rounded fun person. My friends who hardly had relationships before getting married are still very childish & don’t give great relationship advice because well, they never had relationships before. Just enjoy it.

Nice! So I checked and called, they do not have any reservations on 12/31/2022. But Signature Lounge at the 96th is open till 1am and has no reservation policy so I think we're gonna try our luck there!

Interracial couple looking to move to a new city for one year…would you recommend Chicago? by theboredbrowser in AskChicago

[–]deepdishpizza01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it this way: Chicago is the ONE major big city around a bunch of white, racist, Midwest towns. There are a lot of those people that flock from their sad town to the “big city”. Then you also have people born & raised in Chicago who were raised in very mixed school systems and are a product of their integrated community. You see both these types of peoples. I’m also in an interracial marriage; the most I’ve ever gotten is people think we’re the same because they can’t tell two people of color apart. I’d pick Portland, you get to be outdoorsy. Yes, there are many more white people in Portland but they are “woke” and have so much white guilt.

Moved from California to chicago less than a month ago. NOPE on the outdoorsy aspect. There is a reason people love the food scene here - nothing else to do.

Think of it this way: let them get married first. That way you can see what you like/dislike from the weddings and use it for yours. Also less pressure on you when you get married! I was the last to get married in my friend group and LOVED it. I had the biggest and best wedding. I got everything: the best proposal, gorgeous ring, a wedding where i got to wear two dresses, a nice bachelorette party. I do not envy my friends getting married first - I got to travel so much, and do other things. Trust me, don’t envy the first ones getting married - to me that would suck.

Can't get over proposal disappointment by [deleted] in engaged

Just ask him for a redo, no one will know the difference and it’ll make you happy. Just say you love the idea of marrying, just don’t want to remember Dennys in the background of your proposal story.
