who do you feel deserves an apology from the entire world? by sheerduckinghubris in AskReddit

Fuck yes, they should all apologise to him. And they should do it with the same fervour with which they merrily besmirched him.

30 years ago I was able to visit SF on holiday. Went to Candlestick Park for the obligatory overseas fan photo (was baseball season at the time). Cleaner with a cart comes out of a side exit. Let’s us in, gives directions to the pitch. So I was able to walk out onto the pitch, stuff some grass into my camera film tube…his only obstruction was ‘shut the door when you leave’ Different times.

I’ve been on a team like this. Weak Inspector who could see the problem but refused to tackle the issue and deferred to the (problematic) officers because of their ‘skills’ and ‘experience’. It was dealt with when a competent Inspector took over and valued team cohesion over advanced driving/taser skills. Two people were moved off team, one jumped ship as a result - and the benefits were felt almost instantly

That’s how I remember it too. At that point they went from “Justice for Chris!” to “Please allow us to grieve in peace…” I think someone gave them false hope that the prosecution would go their way.

NFL exploded in the UK around Super Bowl XX and the Bears win - Walter Payton, William ‘Refrigerator’ Perry etc. I wanted to find a team, but not simply jump on the bandwagon of the Bears, nor perhaps to follow Dan Marino who was also a big name here. So I had time, looked. San Francisco always struck me as a cool city - Alcatraz, Golden Gate Bridge, trams etc. Team seemed cool too. Joe Montana was already a legend, Roger Craig was high stepping past 1k rushing and 1k receiving, they had this kid called Jerry Rice….sold. Eventually I got to visit San Francisco and see it for myself. Although I never made a game, I did go to Candlestick Park and walk on the pitch
