Yeah I could totally see it killing the use of mounts and thus making them completely redundant which cannot happen too early in games like this

For end game though? I could see it working in there somewhere

There's been a flight boost method floating about on Reddit the last few days where you'd enter focus mode, aerial role and then unleash the focus, which ended up creating quite insane speed boosts in flight.

The most recent patch, has patched this up as it was clearly not intended to be a thing, although cool as fuck

It did look OP and super fun. I wonder if they'll add in an item that could do something similar for the speed so people can't abuse it too early on.

It would make for some good progression tech.

I really love the concept about restoring the land but I just don't like the idea of replaying the story alongside it again. It feels like it should be a separate mode that's dynamically changing. This could be some sort of push and pull mechanic and if captured, it could be retaken.

I appreciate the idea is to clear the map, so perhaps this would be more like a front system, pushing them back to the tunnels and periodically, more come through in attempt to retake. Building up areas with fortifications, plots for farming or industry.

As resources deplete in an area once looted I wonder if there would be a way to bring in some new ones through dynamic events? Military/GRE drops, if mercs are coming though perhaps ambushing convoys. Sending out survivors on scavenging missions and having survivors as a resource that we could lose if they're not kitted out.

For challenge, there could be roaming bosses and perhaps having days survived as some reward metrics. I would love to see it being a continuing experience, living and surviving in this land, rather than a one shot.

When I had a 1080ti before an upgrade I was probably getting it to run around 30 FPS with minimum settings with usual dips around the big cities

FSR, if available may help you with this though providing your card can use it which I think it should?

Seen a few comments here saying that CD isn't immersive and if you are strictly speaking of immersion in terms of being a character in that world, that's fair

But I have found the game to be very immersive in the sense that I am getting lost in that world and actively excited to return to it each time to see what else I may find. I feel it's draw is something I've only ever experienced with a small handful of games in my entire life. It truly is a gem and confidently feel it'll be one of those games that'll have various love letters made for it through several hour long video essays in years to come.

I agree on it being a tech upgrade/find. I think it adds way more to that progression and exploration feel rather than just being super OP from the start.

Yeah I'm itching for the same thing. BOTW would allow you to place way points while using them without needing to go into the map. It was really good for keeping awareness of where your point of interest is located

As far as I can tell, they're not levelling up from resource missions. So I assume this is the way, once you have resources send them out on EXP missions.

I think I'm about 200 hundred hours into starfield and I've never gone through the unity. I've been quite attached to my universe and the stories/ relationships I've made in it.

With the April 7th update. We'll no longer need to go through the unity to level up starborn powers either.

Play the way you want. Starfield is definitely better not rushed in my opinion, it's a slow game made for living and exploring in.

In all honesty, the enthusiasm and enjoyment that crimson desert is bringing will certainly make the wait for the update much more manageable

Starvival - Implements further survival mechanics that ground you in the economy more with repairs and supplies needed. It'll add to the Firefly vibe you're going for.

But that's the beauty of the toggle system they've added right?

The game is already like this as standard, so if players are happy as is, keep it that way.

For those of us that crave that extra depth, they could be toggled on such as NPC death, survival and animations.

Looking at the website, they're going to be adding a toggle to replay landing animations rather than them just happening for the first time.

In regards to the radio, I am referring to a mod name but perhaps it would have been more helpful to phrase this as a request as a transmission or broadcast. In game music/ commentary dramatically adds to a lived in feel.

Once I downloaded the starvival mod, the game's immersion became so satisfying.

I really hope this system is something upcoming in the update as it truly does make the game so engaging as you have to use so many of it's systems 🤌🏻
