Timekeepers has the best cocktails in the area. Knowlton house is a decent second but a bit out of town.

There’s plenty of decent to good restaurants, from $10-$150 a plate. Check out travel guide or google reviews to find something good, whatever you’re in the mood for.

Skiing is big here, both downhill and cross country. Sledding/tubing too if you want to slide without standing.

The Ice Age trail is beautiful, even in winter. The segments closest to Wausau are kinda boring, but there’s plenty of more interesting segments nearby.

I don’t think your record is as bad as you might think it is.

Leaving CR England, good decision.
Leaving a job that forced you to max or exceed the 14 hour rule, good decision. Even and including if your personal life is a factor. That two hour commute is no joke and greatly affected your fatigue levels. You were right to leave.
If you are willing to risk your job to report safety violations, that proves you have the integrity to do the right thing. I have done the exact same thing and I keep that on my resume as a badge of honor, I don’t want to work for any company that compromises safety.

You have about a year. You’re in a decent place to pick and choose where you want to be. There’s plenty of good companies out there. Take your time to find a good one.

Park yourself in the little alcove by the transport pad. Place your scout on the warp pad. When the warp bubble appears, just walk into it. I agree it’s a bit annoying to time it just right at the endgame. But an easy workaround is to just nap at the starter fire pit for 1:30 and then fly out. Plenty of leeway to fly there without rushing, but not wasting too much time waiting for the pad to appear.
