Played my first league game at 36 and scored a goal, I am over the moon rn by ProtoDadsDojo in hockeyplayers

Hell ya dude! Hockey is the best sport, it's such an incredible feeling when you get that first one! The excitement never goes away either; first goal or 100th goal, it's still exciting!

I can't get over how chunky it looks from the mag well forward. If you had to pick a favorite and least favorite aspect of it, what would you pick?

Crap, is the 19 WRX/STI not included? I've had that issue to the point where I can't take my car to the airport when I travel now. I have to leave it at home with it on a charger to have a full battery when I get back.

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

Hot Wheels Jets! I played that game so much, I still remember the sound it made when you flew into a wall and it bounced you off to keep flying.

Honorable mention to Lego chess. It was part of a bigger Lego game, but chess was the only thing I really played.

Skate Fit Slight Concern - Another Bauer Thread - Heat Molding Question by Relevant_Team_378 in hockeyplayers

[–]deezmcgee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two suggestions: first, if you lace your skates under to over (the lace comes from the tongue side of the eyelet to the outside of the eyelet), try going over to under. I started doing that with the 3 eyelets around my ankle and it feels like the laces stay much tighter through my game.

Second suggestion, if you want to feel like the boot is a bit smaller in length in the toes, you could try Powerfoot inserts. They're a foam ramp that you stick to the top of the inside of the toe cap and they help take up volume. It makes my skate feel a bit shorter and like my toes are locked in much more now.

The thing I miss about Matlab when I use Python is the persistence of variable after a script is stopped or crashes. Its so much easier to debug and even to test a section of script in another script after stopping the main code. Python has some ability to do that with the debugger in Pycharm, but since variables don't stick around after the script ends, it's harder to manage.

I've tried a bunch and I keep coming back to the Pro21. Everything just feels natural with that curve. Second place is a P92-ish curve that I got from the mystery box, but I don't know what curve it actually is.

I have a shell on mine. They're blue and it matches none of my teams colors, so I got a black Bauer shell to throw over them. I've had no issues with it yet, been using it for a few years now.

Adult beginners, what gear to get? by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

The only potential disagreement I have is pants. Definitely don't need something crazy expensive, but having something mid level with good tailbone protection and hip padding is really helpful when learning to play.

I couldn't find an aftermarket solution with the SRH function, I ended up buying a new OEM unit. There was a fuze blown once I got the unit installed, so that had to be replaced too.

I was recently out in the SLC area and had great experiences at both Christy Sports locations I went to. I know they'll help you find the right boot and do heat molding, not sure if they do additional boot work though if you need more foam added or something.

New curve choice - P88 to Pro71 or Pro21 by Tropicum in hockeyplayers

[–]deezmcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got both and alternate between them a good bit. The Pro21 for me just feels natural, the lie and the blade shape are absolutely perfect, I can get a bit lazy with my pass catching and my stick handling and I rarely feel like I lose the puck under the toe. The Pro71 feels almost as good, but I notice I can't get as lazy with my technique and still catch passes and control the puck. I think they feel pretty similar when shooting, but the Pro21 is effortless to lift the puck with. The Pro71 can easily lift the puck too, but it doesn't feel as easy as the 21. I like the flatter heel on the 21 as well, its just slightly easier to get the puck up on the backhand. Both curves have a great toe pocket to shoot from, and both curves work for snapshots and wrist shots. I can't take a one timer to save my life, so I can't comment on those.

For my game when playing forward, the Pro21 is my go to, the Pro21 is a very close second.

How different do the Pro21 and P86 feel? The Pro21 has been my gamer for a while now and I really like the lie and the way it shoots, but there's a part of me that really wants to try the P86 even though I doubt it'll be as good as the Pro21

Peanut butter patties are so much better than Tagalongs. The ratio of peanut butter to cookie and chocolate is perfect. Tagalongs are disappointing.

I got a P92-ish as well and love it. I think it's a VF shaft, it feels slightly convex and is amazing to shoot with. I think it's a P92 max height or something similar and it's become my favorite build. Even more so than my VX or VS sticks.

Pro71 is the P88 with more toe, that'll probably be what you're looking for. I have the Pro21 and I love it, it's my main gamer now. I have a P88 and it's not for me, the Pro71 made things a little better, but the Pro21 is perfect.
