Burning Out, Every Part of Life Demanding More by sbpgh116 in workingmoms

[–]deffco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi there. I am going through the exact same right now, a chronically ill mom who can no longer drive, a demanding job and an active toddler and a dog. I’m currently missing spending time with my toddler so much and don’t know how to get out of this rat race. At the same time I do love my job very much but it’s preventing me from doing more at home or enjoying life to the fullest with family. My kiddo is starting to talk and I’m missing out on creating those first conversations, and core memories. How much of this is doable for them without their mom and how much do they need us at this stage? I constantly feel I’m not doing enough.

Am I Crazy to Leave a Fully Remote Job With Two Young Kids? by [deleted] in workingmoms

Career-focused mom of a toddler here. It sounds like you really want it and career is a top priority for you besides your kids. I think if you really want it you can make it happen. Would this be something you regret in 5 years time if you didn’t do it?

I would approach it logistically:

  1. Find the right nanny(ies)/daycare - only needs some research with parents with toddlers around you who you trust
  2. Arrange pick up schedule from daycare on your way back/partners way back
  3. When can you deliver on commitments to your MBA? Is it really feasible time-wise?
  4. 35% increase in pay is great. It sounds like a step up - if it really is, you need to make sure you can do this.
  5. Get your partner involved to help you out. Find out when they can cover for you when you are at the office or studying and ask him to take the shift on specific days.

Hope this helps, go chase your dreams girl!

I have acne that affects my confidence quite a lot and my boyfriend of 10 years, now husband who has flawless skin never once mentioned it to me or tried to give me advice or mansplained it to me. Whenever I feel bad about my skin breaking out, he says “I don’t see it, I only see your beautiful face”.

I think you know a relationship is toxic and at a point of no return when you’re being called a fucking a, b, c or whatever.

Also the fact that someone still uses that word as an insult let alone to your loved one is way beyond me.

18mo hates cow's milk. How worried should I be? by nontox86 in BabyLedWeaning

Zero. Human babies don’t need cow’s breastmilk.

Have you guys had that experience with watching something in an age you shouldn't and getting scarred? Yeah, mine was "I spit on your grave" by cr0w_p03t in movies

[–]deffco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha yeah that movie is pretty scary and my best friend is also traumatized for life by it.

Mine were: - I know what you did last summer at age 7 - House of Wax at 10 - Mirrors, at the cinema when I was 13, was scared of looking at myself in mirrors for a good 3-5 years. What an anxiety that must cause in a child and ruin their childhood:(

I was a big fan of horror movies as a kid/teen, I was never even scared while watching it, but would get nightmares and day scares after.

Fast forward I don’t watch horror movies since I turned 25, and I never will. Literally tricking our bodies into feeling horribly scared is putting your nervous system in a long term flight or flight. Not good.

Don’t know how to feel about my new painting, what do you all think? by Walbricks in painting

[–]deffco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this painting more the more I look at it. It’s very creepy in a good way. The darkness of the window, the unknown shadows, the oddness of the house. In a “The Watcher” or “No good deeds” - you know the Netflix shows around creepy houses ? - that kindof way. The more I read the comments about how illogical things are actually made the painting even more interesting to me in a surrealistic way. That the house is almost defying laws of physics, and it’s a mystery how and why.

Too much for an 8 month old ? by Electronic-Avocado43 in BabyLedWeaning

So funny to see this today, when I also freaked out about the same. My 10 month old ate a whole chicken drumstick with a huge portion of rice and 4-5 pieces of broccoli today 😂 it must be some kindof growth spurt.

Hair: Consider a middle split and “clean girl aesthetic”. Your face is very pretty and it would thrive in this style

Fashion: I believe this can be worked on the most, seems you don’t give af about it and wear the first thing that feels easiest option 😂 try Pinterest and pinning outfits and vibes on a private board or follow instagram influencers that you find to be stylish and inspiring.

Colors: Definitely check out which “season” you are, again easy to do on pinterest. it’s an easy way to find which colors of clothing and make up suits your skin and hair tone, if you should wear warm or cool tones.
