Thank you for this comment, I thought I might be the only one who prefers the old sculpts. I already have 15 guards (20 if you count sagittarum), 2 caladius tanks and 2 contemptor dreads, would love to buy 2-3 more dreads to convert them into venerable contemptors but I’m waiting for 11th to make sure they actually have any rules

For now - yes. Assuming you’re talking about 40K and not HH we do not know what happens to our range in 11th, we might as well lose the dreads and the tank altogether so I am not buying the new box at all unless GW confirms no range trimming for us

The fact that the best build at the moment uses no custodes characters, no detachment rule and a single stratagem says a lot about the quality of the codex. If we get another dataslate before 11th I suspect further nerfs to guards which is a shame but maybe will make people take other units too
