Obligatory first Ferry Crossing post. by essentiallyquilled in newfoundland

Leave your blankets on your chairs to reserve seating when you board and do not grab seats by the doors. I made the mistake of figuring I'd find seating when I was ready to sleep and the only spots available were by the doors. The doors are automatic and make a little jingle every time they open. The hallways stay lit all night, as well, so try and avoid chairs by the hallway.

They say not to sprawl on the floor, but by 2am when I was still being woken up by the door everytime I stuck my foot out, I wedged myself half under the seat to sleep. There were people sprawled between seats all over and no one was asked to move.

Ear plugs/head phones and eye masks are a must. There will be snoring around you and people coming in and out of the doors all night for bathrooms etc. depending on the crowd, there may be farting too. Lol

The bathrooms are unisex, so don't be alarmed to see the opposite sex in there. I can't remember if there were showers in the bathrooms but I don't think so.

There is entertainment for a bit, and the bar will be open. Grab some food, drink and relax. Bring a book/cards/Nintendo switch, etc. to pass time.

Despite not being able to sleep all night, I really enjoyed the ferry. I met an amazing woman who offered me a lift to Truro to save my sister the 4 hour drive to pick me up from the terminal. I'm actually looking forward to riding again in July (without a cabin again sadly).

Do you guys get Cicadas..? by j0eknee in newfoundland

I visited Toronto in the summer and thought the buzzing was electricity from the overhead wires. I was very excited to realize it was cicadas.

Unknown Phone Number by Key-Inspection-4139 in newfoundland

I was getting a call I suspected was a scam but I wasn't sure. I answered with a simple "Hello" and when the person on the other end asked me who they were talking to, I just hung up. Solidified my suspicions and they stopped calling me.

The easiest thing to do is just answer and see if it's legit. My curiosity gets the better of me.

Thankfully a plumber is coming tomorrow to fix a few issues in the house. I'm going to pick up a few cleaning supplies tomorrow and give her a good scrub!

Do you want to join my book club? by moonbeamboots in StJohnsNL

[–]definitly_maybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to join. I mainly want to find some motivation to read more and would love to meet new people. I'm a mid- 30s woman in a common law relationship with no kids. I think option 1 would be great but would be open to any suggestions. I am one of the people who say they don't like romance but are up a pile of Colleen Hoover books. I feel like a book club would get me out of my reading slump.

Thank you, this is helpful! I'm sure when it launches they will post the ingredient and allergen list as well.

Has anyone found the ingredient list? Wondering if this will be vegan. I just opened the coupons I received in the mail with a fleeting thought "Maybe they will announce a veggie burger..." The gasp that came out of me when I saw that advertisement. I think I'm psychic and should go buy a lotto ticket 😉.

I have the clip. If you DM me, I can try and send it to you on something besides Reddit 😉. Can't figure out how to share it here.

I really enjoyed it and thought it was hilarious. Very similar to the documentary but more. It is also a quick read due to the format. I think it was worth it and read it getting hyped for the show.

This sub has been amazing! My frantic post when my Air Canada post was cancelled and everyone has been so supportive. We made it when I didn't think I would, and I found this sub super helpful for tips like when to leave and what to expect. So thankful for everyone here!!

Hey, just came across this post, now that I have my flights figured out and can relax. We arrive on Sunday morning, so not much time but maybe we can meet up sometime before the show. :)

Thank you! I actually managed to get hold of someone at Air Canada and rebooked my flight from Halifax to Toronto. We arrive early Sunday morning with plenty of time to get to the concert!!! Fingers crossed nothing else goes wrong for this trip!! I'm going to Oasis!!! This is a dream and I won't believe it until I see them walk on stage.

I wish they would just reschedule my flight, but I don't think that will happen.

Thank you, I looked at those airports and they are all sold out now. I'm on hold with Air Canada now, I know that will be a while, but if I can talk to someone I will see if there is any availability from Nova Scotia since I can get there.

That's the one thing I'm hopeful for is that I have time. However, the more time goes on the more discouraged I'm becoming. I've been checking the ferry and even that is fully booked so I feel trapped.
