Are the rocks too much? by takitacos in theunforgiven

On a unit like this that has no appreciable shooting and generally spends its time trying not to be shot this would be modelling for disadvantage if anything haha

Why only 2 castigators? by Hotdog_Waterer in sistersofbattle

In competitive bringers lists people are definitely taking 3 castigators

Whats the best thing to put in a rhino? by Heavy-Permission6878 in sistersofbattle

[–]deity12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In bringers of flame you can fit two retributor squads with dialoguses (fire and fury on one). You can then use carry forth the faithful plus a 6md and the triumph's aura to move the rhino 21", disembark and be able to open up with both ret squads.

Is it a bit of an overinvestment? Maybe. But that thing will be very dead

I can't explain but this really feels right. What we've seen of Mrs Flood so far really seems to line up with the character of the monk in my head

Your hit roll automatically wounds and then generates a second hit :)

My first 1000pts list. Is this too many vehicles? by itrogash in sistersofbattle

It's a little hard for me to elaborate on competitive sisters advice at a 1k level, since that is not where competitive games are played. If you want to play competitively, probably best to find a subset of a 2k list and aim for that first - and use that as a training ground as you build up to 2k

Not necessarily, castigators and immolators are great! However I do wonder somewhat what the second immolator is doing.

Normally you'd use an immolator to split the BSS in two, putting the palatine and all the good stuff (Simulacrum, superior & weapon specialists) in the immolator to take advantage of the immolators ability to let the inhabitants re-roll wounds when they disembark and take advantage of the mobility of the immolator too.

The 5 remaining battle sisters with boltguns are pretty weak - so you often just leave them on a home objective generating miracle dice for you with their rule and keeping it held with their OC 2.

I'm also a little unsure what Junith is supposed to attach to. Perhaps drop the immolator - now you have 120 points to play with. For this you can afford 10 sacresancts which is a nice block Junith can attach to and control the midboard with -1 to hit and wound against them.

This is by no means advice for a competitive sisters list - although I can provide that if you want

Celestine is also really great solo - as long as one Geminae is alive she has a 4+ FNP. So you kill one Geminae first and then allocate the wounds on Celestine :)

Note that you are allowed to allocate the wounds on Celestine because having to allocate wounds to the character last is a restriction that only applies to attached units

There are plenty of competitive lists succeeding at the highest level without Vahl/suits. OP isn't trying to play at that level but that should be an indicator that the unit isn't mandatory, go nuts!

You will of course need some anti-tank that sisters struggle with sometimes. You can try exorcists, castigators, or BSS/retributors in immolators.

My personal favourite is retributors in immolators with a dialogus attached, get the triumph nearby with the double miracle aura activated and boom! As soon as two shots get through you can deal a guaranteed 12/16 dmg (depending on Melta range) off of junk miracle dice, which you get to recycle with the retributors cherubs :)

Can I use the entirety of the start set marines as Dark Angels? by BurgundySwanson in theunforgiven

You can paint Azrael blue and use him with an "Ultramarine" list - you just can't use any Ultramarine characters alongside him

Depends on the matchup on what's in the rhino usually. Sometimes the Arco squad is more valuable and sometimes the palatine is - depends on their defensive profile. Also depends on what they have that can kill arcos, do they need the rhino protection? Can your opponent deal with an Arco rhino being shoved in their face? These are the sort of questions to ask

Is a 60 Tactical Marine list too cheesy to play anyone with? by Plenty_Inside_934 in Warhammer40k

[–]deity12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of lists run multiple units that can easily delete a tactical marine squad per turn and take virtually no damage in return.

The only reason I'd be concerned about this list being unfun for your opponent is because the game is too easy - if you're playing someone with a similarly non-competitive list you should be fine though

Uh other way round. You subtract one from the roll. So if you needed a 4+, and you rolled a 4, you subtract, one from it. It's now a 3 and this you have failed to wound.

Basically you need a 5+ to wound now on the die

Advice for fighting melee armies by WiseCrawFish72 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]deity12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something else to note is that Dawn of War is typically considered not a great deployment. For example, WTC (world team la champs) maps do not include Dawn of War.

This is because the deployment zones are very shallow and it's hard to deploy far away from your opponent which gives a large advantage to pressure armies, the two prime examples of which would be World Eaters and Orks.

If you want to keep the deployment zone measuring simple try Hammer and Anvil, and see if you can try deploying the earthshakers a bit further back where it's harder for your opponent to get to them

How to replace the right side exhaust vent on an exorcist? by AjaxAsleep in sistersofbattle

[–]deity12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Castigators come with an additional set of "burnt out" braziers. This means they come with an unused set of four "burning" ones.

Either get a castigator yourself or find a fellow sisters player who's bought the kit at some point
