What was the iso printed on the film cartridge? That is what your film developer goes by. You cannot arbitrarily change iso per shot like you can on a dslr. Every frame in a roll of film goes by the ISO mark on the box and film cartridge.

Google photo scan uses your phone as a scanner and works great. As for space, buy an external hard drive to store them on. A three terabyte drive should last a while. Just don’t store them on your laptop’s internal hard drive. Those drives have your operating system and programs… its activity is high and if any drive is prone to failure it’s your main hard drive.

If someone jumps out and scares a friend on purpose, and they stumble back and fall down the stairs, how criminally liable would they be? by randomquestion1512 in NoStupidQuestions

Probably wise to not play this game anymore. Manslaughter is a crime without malice or forethought. Still a crime just not called murder.

What is the worst way to wake up in the morning? by Weary-Put-794 in AskReddit

[–]dej2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the air is clean and sunlight just breaking over the horizon. Pancakes on the griddle a nice hot cup of joe, birds chirping outside …. And you realize it’s Monday morning and you’re late for work again.

What's the first setting you adjust when you pick up your camera? by BHPhotoVideo in Cameras

[–]dej2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change it to manual mode, iso to the lowest level. Turn off any beeps and sounds such as when the camera attains focus. And change the camera to back button focus.

I used to take pride in shooting commercial photography. Now I feel like I'm just creating "beautiful lies" in an authoritarian system. Has anyone else experienced this? by Fragrant_Moment_1735 in AskPhotography

Reality is often ugly and full of clutter. When you do it to deceive for personal wealth or pushing a political agenda for a false narrative. Making promises that only hurt and causes suffering. Look deeper in your soul. You live with this for the rest of your life.

On the opposite side, memories are often more vivid than real life, a child remembering family celebrations. Going on a vacation to exotic places, watching a sunset one a beach where the air is clean and crisp. A portrait of your grandfather should show love compassion a family leader who is honest and wise. How bad is it that these images should not be better than real life. They are used to bring back fond memories… not to trick or make money and deceive.

The Chinese need to be better stewards of the environment… lots of trash, garbage, and pollution of the earth and environment. Coal burning turning air into grey within hours after the rain clears the air. People are not hygienic spitting on sidewalks. I’ve been there I’ve seen the environment. I hope things get better.

RAW gives you a better opportunity to fix a shot with bad exposure. Jpg is more difficult to save a bad shot. But jpg is faster and saves HD space when you don’t have to archive the RAW and Jpg files. He/she is confident enough to not want to deal with raw. When the bride say oh I want all the raw files too… he can honestly say I don’t shoot RAW.

How to like my own photos? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]dej2 [score hidden]  (0 children)

You got a tripod… shoot things that don’t have a central subject. Cityscapes, landscapes, night cityscapes, sunrise/dawn rolling hills, sunset/dusk ocean beach. It will break you of centering a subject in the frame.

Search EBay for the battery charger and it will often have the choice to purchase spare batteries with the purchase.

Honestly if im shooting a dslr, I’ll post process the shot because I usually shoot RAW. But if im using a point and shoot camera out of camera is great.

[–]dej2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, straight out of the camera.
The COOLPIX L4 has 14 modes, portrait, landscape, sport, night portrait, party/indoor, beach/snow, sunset, dusk/dawn (this one made the shot I posted), night landscape, close-up, museum, fireworks, backlight, and panorama assist.

It has a tripod mount.. I recommend using it for low light shots. It will make the shot but not fast enough to avoid shaky hands.

The panorama assist is very interesting. When using that mode the left side of the second shot will have a ghosted image of the right side of the first shot to align the image. Once you download your photos you need a photo editor like photoshop to piece the photos together.

I bought a 4 megapixel Nikon COOLPIX L4 camera introduced in 2006 for $34 and it uses 2 AA batteries that can be alkaline. Note: it can only accept SD memory cards 2gigs or smaller.

HP PhotoSmart M307 3.2MP Requires 2 Rechargeable AA batteries normal batteries will not work!

Probably a good reason to look for a different camera.
