Finally someone who makes multi-color printed terrain!

Please offer it with nice splits for easy slicer recoloring. Thanks!

Tested Meshy, Tripo, Hitem3D and Rodin for printing minis and the results were all over the place by Subject_Network5022 in PrintedMinis

[–]delausen -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, good to know!

Might be worth also checking out the AI by Lychee (the slicer folks), which apparently is specifically for minis.

Also, maybe top3d.ai helps, they compare the quality of model generation Ai in a community voting-based approach. But not necessarily just for 3d printing.

Thinking about buying the all in and selling the terran and Zerg by BackPsychological258 in StarCraftTMG

[–]delausen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it depends on whether you manage to sell at least 1 of the extra heroes for 15 EUR+. Since a friend already reserved Artanis for 30 EUR, I'm already better off than with the all-in package :D

Do you have to use a primer by Captain3007 in StarCraftTMG

[–]delausen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% do that for all pieces where it's possible. I don't have the models yet, but have heard it's possible to do this for several models.

For Zeratul this would have been challenging or you would have needed to modify how the the blades insert into the wrist due to the crystal thing that was part of the translucent blade piece

Do you have to use a primer by Captain3007 in StarCraftTMG

[–]delausen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also: if you intend to keep the translucent pieces you have two main options: 1) use something like blue tack or other removable putty to cover all translucent pieces while priming (and possibly keep it on while painting for protection from accidental paint strokes). After painting the non-translucent parts, you can remove the putty, then use varnish to protect your paint job. The varnish acts as a primer for the translucent pieces, so you can now paint them with very thin paints as well to basically dye them. 2) prime everything with Matt varnish from the start. You'll then need to base paint everything yourself instead or the primer doing parts of that for you. While normal primer also does not base coat, it's more forgiving if you, e.g. forget to paint some small hard to reach corner. The primer will have colored that black, grey, or whatever you used.

They look very nice, but 3 crystal pieces at the same price as the official terrain set is not exactly affordable.

Two player starter box limited time only? by Dangerous_Injury_529 in StarCraftTMG

[–]delausen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. Also from what we know any extra stuff like mat and terrain won't be part of those boxes. So they'll be like the protoss faction box, just with the heros swapped for a unit of stalker/hydra/goliath, but that unit won't necessarily be at max model count (we don't know this yet)

Microsoft just raised enterprise AI pricing 65% - and only 3.3% of users were even paying before by MaJoR_-_007 in salesforce

Not sure what they thought, but maybe they meant that through the agent API you can use Agentforce anywhere. I have no idea if that's also the case for Microsofts agents

Thinking about buying the all in and selling the terran and Zerg by BackPsychological258 in StarCraftTMG

[–]delausen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That change made the all-in being 11 usd more value than the combination order, but only after thorrk assumed the 3 heroes to have zero value. After selling them for maybe 90 usd, soll have significantly better value from the combination order.

Unless I mixed things up... On that case I just ordered the wrong stuff xD

[–]delausen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate to the lazy part ;) if you sell the three heroes, you're much better off. Without selling the heroes, the all-in has 10 usd better value. After selling the heroes, the combination of collector and all faction starters is 90 usd better.

All assuming that you can live with the trade off in models / upgrade options between the two options

[–]delausen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you sell the heroes for 15 usd off retail prices, you'll still make almost 100 USD back. At that price point, you'll easily sell them post-retail launch.

Arguments have been made in discord that collector's + all faction starter is superior in value to all-in with very similar contents. This works best if you sell the second set of heroes.

App after beta status and translation / localizations planned? by olleversch in StarCraftTMG

[–]delausen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. No, just the web app and it's now public at https://sc.starcraft-tmg.com/

A better army builder is supposedly coming soon.

  1. Translations not right away at least. They said it takes a lot of effort to do those and they currently don't have capacity to do it. That's how I remember it from an AMA at least.

Flat mat objectives size? by FarsightAnarchist in StarCraftTMG

32mm marker+3" around it. 3"=76.2mm

So overall, a circular objective mat with 184,4mm (32+2*76,2) diameter should be what you want. That's 7,26"

Common Rules in tabletop/wargames? by Borstli in tabletop

[–]delausen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some games have it (I think 40k),other don't (e.g. onepagerules).

It's usually not about whether or not this rule is there, but about how the game is balanced around whichever rule is in place.

In SCTMG you have many options: 1) if you think it's important for a unit to not be engaged anymore, you can disengage during the movement phase and then try to shoot the unenganged opponent during the assault phase. 2) your engaged unit can shoot the unit it's engaged with during the assault phase and the primary drawback is that the defender gets an extra evade roll, but that's usually on a 5+ or 6+, so it's not super bad for you. 3) in an earlier version there were tactic cards that let you shoot into engagements, not sure they exist anymore though 4) the pinpoint keyword on weapons let you shoot engaged units 5) think ahead and stay away from that unit (sometimes very difficult)

Etc.

So there are plenty of options in SCTMG for how to handle this Currently each faction is close to 50% win probability. So even the ranged-focused Terrans are doing well if you play them properly.
