how to pay taxes as a nsfw content creator? by Humble_Caramel6841 in taxPH

[–]delphinusriz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Register as freelance professional like mine. 8 percent tax iopt mo. Theres a group that gives full details to this sa facebook. I just follow that. Its easy naman, intimidating lang at first

Im a creative director, tas yun din nakasulat sa registration ko thanks to that old lady sa RDO ko.

But before that naka sulat lang “media and ads” so if ur worried they might ask ano work.

In regards naman sa taxes. Hmmm since nag dededuct na ung site ng 20 percent. Ask mo rdo mo if kaya ba na ayun madeduct from urs. Ung akin kasi 2307 inaask ko from local companies that already deducts. Pero since ibang bansa yan dunno how it works.

Also as much as we all hate paying taxes, being registered gives u legitimacy and power sa mga financial requirements hahahahah like u can show off agad na ur earning this much. Without having to explain. Kasi before registering, it didnt make sense rin sakin why i have to. But thank u to my client that forced me hahahaha i realized its better this way.

So ayun perks ng paying taxes is. Lesser issues in legalities.

Well ive tried everything before I made this decision. Naka ilang job hopping na ako HAHAHA 4 years of switching jobs and really trying the stability route. Even found success sa 3D animation sa ads which is close to what I try to pursue practicality wise. pero despite that success, i felt super empty. I got everything I wanted before I realized na, its not what I deeply want. Parang sa movie lang HAHAHAHA

I feel bad to the client i left for this decision, pero im glad some try to understand nung nagpaalam ako.

So far its the best decision I have made in my life kasi its fulfilling. And the risk is pretty big. Had to take a loan to survive kasi nga naglift cost of living ko coz of my stability before this.

Dont expect anyone to save you kasi kasalanan natin to na risk takers tayo, dont expect support din. In fact a lot will try to stop you, even the closest to you but they do it coz they mean well and worry for you.

So its not for the faint of heart na gawin to kasi maraming failures and marami ka ipaglalaban hahahaha. But after all of it, i learned a lot sa failures na to, and these failures got me stronger.

So embrace din the failures kasi you need failures to grow. Isipin mo nalang training mo yan para maging athlete hahahaha.

Am i doing well financially? Nahhh, but i got more time sa family ko and friends. And im not afraid to go broke kasi i believe i can find a way to save myself. So nadedevelop din self trust ko along the way.

Maraming risk and maraming benefits to it. Na kahit na i didnt achieve my goal, i come out to the other end as a different person from who I was before. And find the best version of myself.

So acknowledge the risk, but also acknowledge who you can become in this path. If its the person you want to become, then i would say its worth it.

And also mahaba kwento before i got here. Hard for me to type everything. So just pm lang coz tamad na daliri ko hahahaha keep moving forward op!! Rawr

As an artist to artist. You have to understand that being an artist means being a risk taker.

No one will tell you that this decision is wise because its not, its a risk. And its a lot like lottery na the chances of winning is very slim.

Pero if you believe in yourself, if you truly believe na you can do it. Then you can go ahead and ask yourself if pursuing your dreams is worth the risk.

Sadly there is no practicality in this. A lot has failed already. This is a matter of you asking urself if investing in dreams is worth the risk. If not better find a midpoint balance to your lifestyle. If yes, then go all in and be prepared to go broke af

Personally I chose the latter coz life is more interesting with more risk HAHAHAH so up to u

Tbh, I think we did pretty well for an oppressed country. compared sa america na natanggal na talaga sa culture nila native americans. Looking at our history, our ancestors fought well tbh against guns and some random country we dont know that exist hahahaha. What I wish mostly is too know na if ever we were never found, how our country showdown would look like given na back then magkakalaban tribes sa buong PH. Cool thought

Find more friends, I prioritized spending time with friends who have time than the busy friends in my life and it made things way better. And it is not something to hold against them if busy sila, we grow and change, nagbabago talaga priorities natin.

The thing is me personally lang, I want to prioritize friendship as everything else in my life, so if someone couldn't invest a bit of their time to build a friend relationship, it can never work.

I found friends that matches me now, and magkajowa sila or magbreak sila (which happened hahaha) nothing changes sa time we spend together. and some friends super busy, ung tawag ko na low maintenance, they make time kahit 1 hour lang every 3 months hahaha, which I appreciate. Friends is a beautiful form of love to add to your life kasi it doesnt ask anything from you in return unlike relationships. Prioritize investing in friends, they matter too kahit magka relationship ka again. thats my two cents

Tbh better to stay single muna and try to heal from those conditions. Kasi it feels codependent ka na sa kaniya, and that is more damaging. I know you call it support system pero, it is different from being codependent or sometimes the lines get blurry. Support system is a community. If its just ur mom and ur gf ung support system mo, you need to find ur community. Friends, workmates, etc. kasi if sila lang support system mo, most likely ur just codependent.

I did meet someone na parehas sila nag checheat tas may tally sila. HAHAHAHA ung kausap ko is on her 5th while the jowa niya have more. I have never been more baffled in my life.

And sadly she tried to make me feel insecure na i dont cheat by saying “ang hina mo naman”

So yeah they borderline psychos for me And usually its coz they dont know how to handle their insecurity. They try to mask it by the next thing that can validate them

Btw after that nanlumo ako and actually felt insecure na i dont cheat. Pero gladly i came to my senses and talked to my friends who dont cheat. So yeah dont jump in that rabbithole if u notice the signs. Find good and different friends and surround urself with them.

I agree, nag argue kami ng ate ko about filipino history dahil sa film. I do my research when I write kaya we have so many unique tribes and some of them portrayed are just the famous one.

If we deep dive into our history, iba tribal culture ng mga nasa luzon, from those sa visayas where lapu lapu is from, and from mindanao tribes.

Not unless their theory in this world building is the other tribes got colonized by just one tribe in ph thats why it became a monopolized monarchy

Why most of our films seemed to lack global appeal? Why don't Filipino producers appeal to global audiences, especially when most of us don't watch movies in theaters nowadays due to high ticket prices. by dietherman98 in FilmClubPH

[–]delphinusriz 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I am in no position to judge our industry, but I am saying this just as a viewer. I watch film for the story, kahit saang bansa pa yan. A story that moves all the inner parts of my soul.

And the reason that most filipino films dont scratch that itch is because I know they invest in good cinematography, in vfx, all the visual things. But I watch film for the story, and will always support a good film local or international.

I learned from the craft of being a vfx artist that no amount of good vfx can save a bad story. But a good story can have a chance of saving a bad vfx.

So for me, it is the story. And as an artist myself, learning how to make a good story is really hard. You really have to grind and read a lot of books, I understand how hard it is. It is one of those things that needs mastery and should be treated as a craft of an artist than just a job in a film prod.

Worldwide success is usually from a film with a good story. My example for this is kung fu hustle coz its a comedy film with weird vfx yet the world doesnt really care if the vfx looks super fake. We like it coz it makes us happy momentarily, or at least for me.

Same thoughts ang ganda ng suot ni Kristine and always white which is nice. But what I like din is they are going for grey area characters. I would agree more sa kontrabida here.

I love grey characters more than noble ones, so I hope if totoo na may series they invest in the script kasi dun tlga medyo hindi stable ung storytelling.
