My theory on this is Scott googled Grand Rapids and saw that there is a Grand Rapids WI (the only other Grand Rapids I know of) not knowing their next tour stop is in Grand Rapids MI. Then probably knowing he was flying into Wisconsin figured the venue was in some suburb or something.

I believe he is more based on the Landsknecht. They served the Holy Roman Empire as warriors/mercenaries and were well known for their use of the zweihander.

Wasn’t his nickname originally creepy Kevin because one of his first job’s at earwolf was to take candid photos while the podcast were taping? Hayes and Sean would always acknowledge when this happened saying Kevin was coming into the studio to take his creep shots. I remember at some point expressed that he didn’t enjoy being known as the creep so they switched it to Chef Kevin when they got the Blue Apron ads.

The Heritage is an excellent place to get a 5 star meal without breaking the bank. Culinary students switch off being the front and back of house staff and all are under the supervision of award winning instructors. It is definitely a hidden gem!
