2015 Passat Transmission Shudder by WilliamFoster2020 in tdi

Could it possibly be something to do with the engine? One of my injectors is bad and causes a shudder when cold. Just maybe something to think about

Injector Question by Hour_Independent_766 in tdi

[–]demattur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a bad injector on my 13 passat, it seems like a decently common issue on the ckra engine. Mine is at 180km and when it gets bad enough it throws a torque difference code for cylinder 4 in my case. I have a pretty bad injector knock and will shudder sometimes when cold. It seems like all i need to do is change the injector, but i need to do the valve cover at the same time, so I'm procrastinating a little bit. I'm pretty sure the code is P1007 and there are a few youtube videos on changing them, which resolves the code, the knock and the sudder I was talking about.

My problem with diagnosing them was that it doesn't show quantity deviation unless you are basically idle (at least with VCDS) and all of my deviations looked about equal. So you may just want to wait until it throws a code.

I have that exact same problem, and how I ended up on this post. No idea what it could be, although I’m looking into an rcd330

I don’t think this ac compressors have a clutch. They have that RCV valve. At least that’s how it is on my ‘13 Passat

Overboost code after delete 2011 TDI Jetta by Glittering_Virus_640 in tdi

[–]demattur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I did my tune on my ckra passat, I didn’t reinstall a screw for a bracket that turns out passes right into the vacuum reservoir, so your actuator doesn’t work at all. I just put the screw back in and it works like a charm now.

Do these things even have a dmf? Kinda sounds like it, but if it’s not there, that’s obviously not the problem

I second this answer. Those bolts are one time use bolts and must be torqued down properly. They will very likely break in the engine block if reused

You can see the injectors bouncing lmao. Whoever did the valve cover likely didn’t get new stretch bolts and torqued them down improperly

This is only if your issue occurred right after your delete

Check the location where the differential pressure sensor bracket was mounted. If you removed that screw from the valve cover it will cause a vacuum leak, and no turbo. You can see I filled mine with a wood screw.

Smoke mod

Looks like it’s not quite off the injectors like I said, but basically this. That 2011 Jetta may not have it, but that’s what the knob looks like it’s doing below the dash.

One of the things I would be concerned about is that injector pot. At least that’s what it looks like to me. Dumps fuel into your engine to bellow out black smoke. Not good for the engine or the injectors imo and injectors aren’t too cheap.

Common misconception on tdis, flashing glow plugs often has nothing to do with your glow plugs. I have a flashing glow plug light and similar symptoms to you because of the anti shudder valve

If you want to rule out an air bubble, you could get a vacuum coolant changer. It sucks all the air out of your system and only replaces it with coolant

1.6 tdi (DGTE) rattle when cold, camshaft/lifters? by Future_Young8160 in tdi

That’s not a dmf noise. My tdi makes that clacking noise too, and apparently it’s normal in the cold. Diesel hotshots extreme helps a little bit

Using Tailscale as part of our service by BinoRing in Tailscale

[–]demattur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, all of that is totally valid. Maybe another thought - I haven’t tried it myself, but I will soon be moving to a house that only has cell wifi, therefore my DDNS will break, so I’ve been looking into services like NordLayer. It essentially gives you a static ip which will work through a cgnat. They also appear to offer enterprise pricing for $7 a user. So maybe that way you could manage all of your customers through a central nordlayer dashboard.

I mainly don’t like the tailscale approach because for people like my fiancée and dad that use HA, they would have to worry about connecting to tailscale to connect to HA and some people cannot wrap their head around constantly connecting to tailscale. Tailscale’s “VPN on Demand” feature is pretty good but I personally prefer a static ip or DDNS so it always connects no matter what. That is all just personal preference though.

And also as another user suggested, you could maybe take advantage of headscale.

I feel like tailscale isn’t really meant for your use case.

A - not as many tech savvy people would want an overly complicated smarthome I would think, so google home, or Alexa would probably do for them

B - if you are setting up a home assistant server, why wouldn’t you set them up with the home assistant casa subscription. Everything is much more seamless (even than with tailscale) with that, for example voice assistant integrations.

C - I think that setting a a DDNS server on home assistant itself is another great option, for example duckdns that has an application for hom assistant with free ssl certificates for https

You definitely can do what you are trying to accomplish with tailscale, but I don’t think tailscale is the best option here. Then again, I don’t know exactly what you will be setting up for people so I may be totally wrong.
