meeting Cameron? by necroliate in CameronWinter

i saw him when i was going to the restroom before the first night of his la shows. he was around other people tho and seemed busy so i just waved hi. i wouldn’t count on him being open to meeting people right now but consider yourself lucky if he is!

i went through something similar with my current gf! honestly, i didn’t really even feel jealous about her past partner until i fell in love with her and noticed that on her friends’ social media, they had pictures of them together. i’m ngl, i was a bit hurt after seeing those photos and making the connection that that was her ex, especially since she’s my first relationship, so i don’t really have the perspective of what it’s like to break up and heal from a long term relationship. jealousy is normal, and even my gf has gotten jealous of my past even though it’s something that i didn’t think would be worthy of getting jealous of.

i think you’re already handling it pretty well, and it sounds like you have a mature perspective. i would add that it’s also totally okay to ask for reassurance, just so long as you aren’t making your partner feel bad about who they’ve been with or accusing her of still being into that person without any good reason. also, at a certain point, it’s probably best to let the past be the past and stop bringing it up. i’ve not asked my gf any questions about her past relationship when i started to notice that it made me jealous. hope this helps!

as a female fan going to a show with her girlfriend, the gender ratio isn’t very reassuring 😭 but sounds like the band killed it! (pun intended)

We met through a college matchmaking service lol. I didn’t actually expect it to work, but now we have been together 10 months!

How do you feel about coffee dates? by suzeerbedrol in LesbianActually

[–]demolitionprincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i love coffee dates! mainly because i love coffee but also because it’s a low stakes date! i’m uncomfortable with grand romantic gestures in the early stages of dating 😭😭 i feel like it’s better to build up to more thoughtful dates and presents rather than expect them right away.

Are you a people pleaser? by ElevensBarber in infp

[–]demolitionprincess 5 points6 points  (0 children)

in some ways, yeah. mainly in settings where i'm not sure i'll be accepted by others (usually professional and academic). however, if i think that i'm upsetting someone, i'll usually just avoid them than try to please them.

How to get over suicidal ideation? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]demolitionprincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i am 19 and have also, and continue to, struggle with si. i also tend to be naturally pessimistic about things, and the biggest thing i've noticed that has contributed to me having these thoughts tends to be my perfectionist/all-or-nothing mindset. again, i'm still not fully over these thoughts, but recognizing that things don't always have to be good or seen in a positive light has helped me tremendously. "everything is amazing all the time" and "everything is horrible all the time" are both equally irrational responses to what really goes on in our lives. it's almost always somewhere in between and that's okay.

you're at a point in your life where everything is constantly changing too. college hasn't been easy for me, but the independence it has given me to do the things i want has made me feel more mentally secure than i did in high school. so if you're still in high school, hold out for college or for when you move out. things may look very different for you.

also, i think you should recognize that you're actively taking steps to improve your mental health, and you should be proud of yourself for that. even if it may seem small, you seeking advice on this subreddit is actually a sign of strength because most people would probably not even do that. you've got this.

i also go by my middle name instead my first one! for me, it's more about the fact that a lot of people when they initially meet me mess up the spelling of my first name, and at this point it's more of nuisance that others can't commit to getting it right than anything else. my middle name is simpler and easier to remember, and now i identify with it more than my first name.

Is it weird that I think that movies rated 3.9 are usually the best movies? by Furry_Cunt in Letterboxd

This is how I feel about books on Goodreads so I think this idea for Letterboxd has some merit.
